I need a website to burn a recovery disk on because my dads computer will not allow him to do anything and he doesnt have the recovery disk.

You can try to run a recovery without a disc. Shut down the computer. hold the zero key and the power button at the same time on reboot. This should take you to the recovery screen. Good luck =]

My laptop wont reboot or do anything how do i get the recovery disk to start

A recovery CD will not help until you get the laptop booting up.
Try this first.
Computer does not boot upThe problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needsreseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up thenremove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop andget them to test the RAM for you.

What is hard boot disk

A slang term. The Recovery Disk.

Has the basic Windows files, so you can repair any corrupted files for Windows.
Need one?

If this is in reference to an HP laptop, as the problem title suggests,
(HP Pavilion dv5-2129wm Notebook PC), then here is the method to obtain the Recovery Disk;

The Recovery Disk is free from HP Support.
The shipping, and handling is not.
In the USA the cost is $17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, and $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.

Go to the bottom of the laptop, and in the white Service Tag, write down the Serial Number. It is S/N.
You will need this to give to the nice HP representative.

Call 1-800-474-6836.
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For other countries use HP Support Worldwide,

http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/support.html

Put the Recovery Disk in your optical drive.

IF, you want to keep the personal information on your computer, when asked choose Repair. (Non-Destructive Installation)

IF, you want to wipe all of your information off, and return the computer back to Day 1 when it came from the factory,
choose Full Installation. (Destructive Installation)

My hp laptop has two partition the first one is not working fine.it has a problem when install an appllication or any time you send any thing to the computer ...

Two partitions? The first partition being the main (C:) partition, and the second partition being the Recovery partition? (D:) You aren't supposed to be able to download anything to the recovery partition.

I would suggest you use the Recovery Disk (CD)
Perform a Non-Destructive Installation (Repair)

If you do not have the Recovery Disk;

In the USA the disk is free. The shipping and handling is not.
$17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.
Have the Serial Number (S/N) ready to give to the nice HP Support representative.
(Bottom of the laptop)

Call 1-800-474-6836
24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Outside the USA please click on this HP Worldwide Support link,

I would like to completely reset my computer to the state I purchased it in and I do not have a recovery cd or anything like that

If you really want to reset your computer to the state it was in when you purchased it then you will need to get a hold of some recovery disks. I found a site that sells a number of recovery disks for various systems and got the link to the specific one for your model of computer http://recovery-disks.com/acer/acer-aspire-m1201.html. They will send you specific instructions on how to use their recover disks.

How do i restart my computer so its like new?

You mean restoring the Laptop to factory settings?

You can do that by following tow ways. You can use Recovery Partiotion of your Notebook (if available) and you can use the Recovery Disk (if you have created). Providing you the steps for both....

Restoring to factory settings by Partition:
1.Connect PC to the AC power adapter.
2.Restart the notebook and Press F11 when HP logo appears.
3. Tap the F11 key as soon as the HP logo appears.
4. On the PC recovery window Select "Ok".
5. On the next screen read the system recovery information and Select "Advanced".
6. Select Destructive Recovery and follow on screen instructions.
7. Restart the notebook when prompted.
In case if the Recovery partition is not working, use the recovery disk. If you did not create the recovery disk, then order it online from following HP link....

Recovery disk order page for CQ60-220US (P/N: NB048UA#ABA)
https://warp2.external.hp.com/driver/dr_country_select.asp?Product=515690-002&lang=en&cc=us
If you are not able to open the link....
1. Open an Internet Explorer, type www.hp.com
2. In the search bar, type your Laptop's Product Number (P/N)
3. From the left side, click on 'Software & Driver download'
4. Select Microsoft Windows Vista from drop down
5. Click on + beside Recovery Media then click the link.

Instruction to install from Disk:
1. Insert the disc. Turn off the Notebook. Again turn on the Notebook with Disk inside.
2. Press "ESC" key on keyboard twice.
3. You should find one time boot device option.
4. Select CD/DVD as primary boot device and then hit enter key.
5. Now the installation should start.

My Thinkpad/Lenova R51 had a hard drive failure. I got a new hard drive and installed it in the computer. Then I attempted to use the rescue and recovery cd and the product recovery cd's that came with...

The partition that had the Lenovo image was on the old hard drive not the new one you purchased, so you will not be able to restore from image. Look on the bottom of the laptop for the Windows version. Is it Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro? You will need a Microsoft Windows disk to reinstall and you can use the serial number on the sticker to activate. This is all legal because the serial number belongs to the laptop. Unfortunately, finding a Windows software might be difficult. Ask a friend if they have a disk of the same operating system.

Might be easier to take to a tech and pay $60.00 (I wouldn't pay nmore than that) and have them reinstall basic windows and drivers for you.

Sounds like a failing hard drive or corrupt file system.

Or possibly you have a non bootable disk in the floppy drive, assuming it has one as most laptops dont.

Is this Windows XP? If so, try booting from the XP cd. At the menu, choose R for recovery console.

In the recovery console, type in CHKDSK /R and let it run, it may take well over and hour to run, if it runs at all. If the recovery console is unable to load, or chkdsk wont run, you may have a failing hard drive.
