You need to set your input for the source coming in. For instance if you have a cable box and it is hooked up in the back of the TV. to video 1 then that's what you need to put your input on your remote to. If you have an antenna and it's hooked up to your antenna port then you need to set your input to tuner. If you have a DVD player and it's hooked to your component ports on the back of your TV. then you need to set your input to component 1 or 2 whichever one you have it plugged into and so on. I hope this helps.

This is usually an easy fix. Depending how your tv is connected. Most probably it is the input you are on, or not on. Get your Sony remote look for a SOURCE or INPUT button. Press it and go to each input, for example, HDMI-1 2, INPUT-1,2 VID-1.2.etc.. Also check to see if your cables in the back is loose or out. Hope this helps

Samsung tv ps50a656 sound no picture

My guess here is that you have the audio and the video on different inputs. Check your wiring and make sure that your video and audio are on the same inputs (ex. Video 1 is matched with Audio 1). With the many inputs that TVs now have it is easy to hook up the video to video 1 and get the audio on something like Aux.

This sounds more like a problem with your projector than with VLC. VLC is just a player, if it works properly on the computer screen then it should work properly going through the computer using the projector as output.

Input 6 - HD Input - Green Screen. Audio Only. No picture.

Hi there,
I am having a similar problem with the inputs. I have a cable box plugged in to cable antenna, DVD to video 6 using HDMI, Mac computer plugged in to video 7 - using HDMI (TV does not recognize this) and then Nintendo Wii hooked up to Video 1. My problem is that Sony only realizes 2 additional components like the video 1 (wii) and DVD on video 6, it does not play the other components. I have to niw manually switch the cables to have them work...

No picture or sound

If the screen displays VIDEO 1 then the set is in video 1 mode, looking for a signal on the video 1 input jacks. Press the TV/VIDEO button on the remote (or the set itself if it has it) and cycle around to the input you are actually using.

Please, Help me fix my TV

It sound like you have abad picture tube. Iknow this is not the answer that you want to hear. Sony's have video blanking circuit built into the video processor(in the jungle IC) when the emission of all three gun fall out of an acceptaable range. the screen blinks and when you turn the screen control on the IHVT all you see is re-trace. Some times there is a current limiting resistor in series with on lead of the heater on the crt board. By changing this resistor from 2.2 ohm to >.1 ohm @1/2 watt you can sometimes increse the filament voltage to the point that the blanking stops. This is only a temporary cure not a fix. The picture tube is probably bad. Scrivitron
