I have a Uniden PRO510XL radio and a 48" single

then the antenna needs to be moved. antennas have to have a ground plane to get correct swr below 3... or there may be a bad ground. try moving antenna @ different angles to see if it changes swr's or even opening the door away or closer to the body will make it change. also check the insulator it should be on top. call if you need help

I just have uninden pro510xl (used), but don't know how to set the channel (progamming) so it can match with my handheld radio (i use motorola GP200). Thanks...

hi The uniden pro510xl operates on 11mtrs or 27mhz (cb band) the gp200 is vhf 136-174mhz so you will not be able to communicate through these radios you can only program within the specified frequencies hope this solves your problem

Best modulation for PC68XL

Most Cobra / Unidens are easy by clipping D9. On this one D9 and L19. Just turn up L19 to top. Clip D9 diode. spread coils 1/16" inch. Also use 100uf capacitor (-) toward final across JUMPER staple near Final Transistor in back. Use meter(adjust to best swing) spread back coils, remove L10,L20 slugs or adjust them to top. The only radio that clips different than D9 is Cobra 29Ltd (D11) or Uniden pro510xl(D14).

My uniden pro510xl when hooking it up imediately blows the fuse like a dead short but if i hook up another radio it will work fine

The radio was probably wired backwards at some point. There is a reverse polarity diode inside that must be replaced to fix this. If you have continued replacing fuses and plugging it back in, there may be further damage such as finals or audio amplifier chip as well. you will need to take the radio to a qualified repairman for service. If it is simply the reverse polarity diode, your bill should not be more than an hour's labor charge.

Uniden PRO510XL Outup

The Uniden 510 xl is quite possibly the easiest and one of the loudest radios I have ever pumped up .Now here's the problem it's been atleast ten years since I've had the cover off one so I can't tell you which diode # it is you clip for the modulation I know that as your looking at it (speaker side up ) it's about halfway on the right hand side buy the audio transformer. Then you change the resistor buy the final transistor , you go higher until you get where you want it , going higher is going to bring your output wattage down ; I usually tried to get it down around two watts . By doing just these two things and maybe a little adjusting you should be able to deadkey 2 watts and swing to 18 watts with just that cheap stock mic. if you change the final transistor I've seen them swing to 35watts.They are fun cheap radios that when you do this no one beieves that that's all your talking on . Good Luck !

CB RADIO UNIDEN WASHINGTON PC-385 PCB

VR3 adjusts the transmit frequency. It's located near the center of the PC board close to the front panel. As this is a hit-or-miss operation, it would be wise to use a frequency counter when attempting it.
