Hey to you all , i'm have a problem with my Samsung SH-S223F SB03 . the problem is that the Device Manager recognize the drive and see him but when i'm opening My Computer the Drive is not there , the Nero program does not see the drive also and when i'm loading all kind of cd's nothing is happend , help me please , what wrong whith the drive or with something else ???

might be a lemon take it back i have seen this before

click start control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll to cd/dvd rom drives right click properties then properties again then tick enable cd digital cd audio for this cd rom device or scroll to dvd regions select the no _ for your specific area

This optical drive is a Plug 'n Play device in Windows OS's. The only requirement is connection to a WORKING SATA controller. Check in Device Manager to insure the sata controller is working/enabled and you shouldn't have any problem. Windows will auto-detect / auto-install the drive without user intervention once this condition has been met.

Additionally, you will need 3rd. party recording and dvd decoding software in order to use all the functions this drive was built to perform, ie: play dvd movie disks and record to dvd and cd-rw disks. Windows is sorta limited on what all it will support.... that's the reason for the additional 3rd. party software like Nero or Roxio and PowerDVD or WinDVD.

Windows 2000 and XP and Vista and 7 _all_ should recognize _all_ CD/DVD drives, automatically.

Check the electrical power connector.
If you push the open/close button, does it open/close the tray?

Check the "data" cable connector to the drive.
Check the "data" cable connector to the motherboard.

If the drive is a "parallel-ATA" drive, check the jumpers (MAster or SLave or CableSelect).

Try to connect the drive to a different computer.

If it is a "new" device (not a "used" device), return it to the merchant, for warranty repairs.

Follow below steps
1. Shutdown the computer and connect the DVD RAM burner.
2. Switch on the computer.
3. Before the boot menu, press Esc. You will reach the BIOS.
4. Navigate through the BIOS GUI to find the newly connected DVD Burner.
5. Insert the bootable DVD into that drive.
6. Change the boot order options in BIOS, so that the computer will first searches for DVD Drive before reading Hard drive
7. Save and exit the BIOS to restart the computer.

Now the computer boots from the bootable DVD inserted in the drive

What sometimes works is disconnecting the drive and then switch on the computer, allow it to boot and then close it down and reconnect the drive. If the drive and the motherboard and components are good the found new hardware wizard should appear or the system should tell you the drive has been recognised and installed automatically.

If it doesn't then try another drive.

i think this is having some problem with its head and lens...contact your nearest samsung care for further help

Hi,

Plug it in, then goto device manager and uninstall it, then right click on your pc at the top of the device manager and click "Scan for changes", the drivers might be corrupt.

IF THE DRIVE SHOWS IT ,, then its hardware

eighter the drive is defective or something is wrong with the MB/P

try the drive on a different computer if it works change your mother board format and reinstall

if it didnt work take it back for warrenty or get a new drive
