If the phone had the battery attached and got wet, then the circuit board is likely fried. Even after drying will not help. The capacitors and/or resistors will immediately fry when they get wet.

Acer laptop doesn't power up after water spill

As I'm sure you are now aware , electronics and water do not mix. That said, Remove ALL power IMMEDIATELY if you get water in /on a laptop. If the power is removed , battery, AC, you can try and dry out the spill, otherwise the damage is done. How much damage I can't say, only a qualified computer tech can ascertain that.

I dropped my phone in water and now it turns on but i have a white screen. how do i fix it?

2 things here. 1. It cannot be fixed and 2. let it dry completely by taking out the battery and sun dry it. Don't use a hair dryer unless you use the lowest setting and not for a long time. This could take hours or days to dry out. You are lucky you got anything to work but that is a good sign you did not short it all out. Hope you get it working again and thanks for using FixYa.

I spilt mountain dew on my brand new laptop today and now the keys are sticky and i can barely type how do i fix it.?

turn off the power cord/cable ,remove the battery ,let it dry for 72 hours... if possible take the parts out and let them dry separately ,but do not use heater or hair dryer for dying it out sooner. and reassemble it after it drys..if it is sticky wipe it with baby wipes but holding you pc upward down and let it dry.

Let it dry out for another day or two too make sure it's completely dry inside. Or you can you a hair dryers to blow out and dry the excess water inside.

In case none of this will work, it needs repair.

Dropped phone in a bowl of liquid

*Choice one- Methyl Alcohol

Clean the circuit with Methyl Alcohol
  • Dip a q-tip in the alcohol and squeeze the q-tip.(you want it to be almost dry)
  • Very carefully clean the circuit and allow it to dry, it is important that you clean around the medal to prevent short circuits.

*Choice two- Rubbing Alcohol

Clean the circuit with Rubbing Alcohol
  • Dip a q-tip in the alcohol and squeeze the q-tip.(you want it to be almost dry)
  • Very carefully clean the circuit and allow it to dry, it is important that you clean around the medal to prevent short circuits.
  • Rubbing alcohol has a slower evaporation rate so you need to wipe the area with a clean q-tip after cleaning it with the alcohol.
If this dose not work you need a new phone, good luck.

Dropped my camera in a pool of water in a glacier 12 months ago. I immediately took out the battery and memory card. I then spent 2 hours with a hair dryer drying the camera. Since then the camera has...

There is no relation between the two incidents that you explained. The recent problem might have occurred due to damaging of the lens. MY solution is to replace the objective lens ( lens assembly) and the motor ( if needed ). If it costs much, then go for a new one, since digital camera with high pixels rates are available cheaply now a days.
