Frigidaire Side by Side Refrigerator. How to stop the loud humming noise coming from it please?

Question edited for clarity.

It sounds like the compressor is struggling / overheating / failing. When was the last time your stripped the back out and removed all the fluff and debris? It overworks the compressor and gets red hot when the condenser coils get blocked. The struggling compressor causes the humming. Turn it off, keep the doors closed and vacuum it all out. Clean underneath and you might as well clean the floor and walls around it as the plan is to leave it disconnected for 1 to 2 hours to cool down and settle the refrigerant gas/liquid. Some other ideas below.

The evaporator fan motor circulates air over the coils to help keep things cool inside your fridge. If this motor starts to go bad, it will make a buzzing sound as it struggles to circulate air. You'll need to replace the evaporator fan motor to fix this problem.

Model 160 c when AC goes on after about 5 minutes causes the circut breaker to go. The fan does not do that when it is turned on, only the AC. THANKS JEFF

Hi Jeff,
The compressor is either locked up or shorted....
The five minute delay is built in to keep the compressor from starting under load..
Then when it kicks on the high amp draw will kick the breaker...

In most cases the cost for parts and labor to replace a small compressor are more then the unit is worth...
The best thing to do is to replace the whole unit.

2000 Jeep Cherokee A/C not blowing cold, compressor would keep kicking on every 1-2 minutes even w/ A/C off, now does not kick in at all. Replaced low pressure cycling switch, no change. R134, shows full....

test compressor unit to make the clutch magnet is to make sure its engaging. Youtube it or google it and you'll be surprised what you find. It can be a DIY if your handy that way. And a lot less expensive as there are replacement parts for these.

Kenmore a/c window unit fan not kicking on with compressor.

Likely a bad motor, when this occurs verify the board is sending voltage to the motor.

Kenmore Fridge 4 yrs old side by side model not cooling

Hi. Your refrigerator is under 5 years and the compressor is still under full warranty. Call Sears and get it fixed parts and labor included. There should be no charge to you whatsoever. Make sure they understand that on the phone when you set up the appointment. You would be better off having a different technician from Sears come out to your house, as the one that came was not honest with you. Good luck, Mack
