Question about Maytag Admiral Top-Freezer Refrigerator

Open Question

I have an Admiral LTF2112ARZ refrigerator. Water is leaking from the ice maker fill tube down into the bottom of the freezer at the beginning of each ice cycle. The ice maker itself seems to be fine. I want to have a look at the fill tube and valve, but I don't know how to access them. There is a small removable panel at the bottom of the back of the fridge and one large panel covering the rest of the back. When I took all of the screws off, the large panel remained stuck to the fridge. It appears to be glued. The water line goes straight into a rubbery plastic piece that is stuck inside the back of the freezer.

SOURCE: Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

We had a similar problem. It ended up being a frozen pea that fell down into the defrost drain and was blocking the water from draining out each time the freezer defrosted.

SOURCE: Refrigerator leak

the water fill tube for i/m is on the back of ref. the tube you have is to the water dispenser. look in freezer floor, is it full of ice? if so, remove all ice and clear drain hole for evap. if not, reassemble what you took apart and inspect tube under ref. while someone runs water dispenser. find leak and repair.

SOURCE: Refrigerator leaking water

This sounds like the water line from the icemaker and the cool water reservior inside the refridgerator side. The line is a rigid plastic hose and could be a leak at one point that is small enough to allow water to run along the line. Also sounds like you have a humidity problem. Check the door seals and wipe them off and apply a thin coat of die-electric grease to the seal. this will help keep it pliable and soft.
The water in the bottom leaks into a trough that is made into the fridge. This usaully evaporates, This is for the auto-defrost. It keeps the water from getting on the floor.
Check to see if the outer door gets hot at the edges. If not, It may not be auto-defrosting.
I would first check the water line first as this seems to be a more serious issue right now. The line is probably loose at one of the connections between the ice maker and water reservior.

Loose fill tube on ice maker Maytag side by side

Please look around your refrigerator fresh food section door frame for a model number. I believe the reason water is leaking inside freezer is a defective water control valve that you attached to with water line on back of most refrigerators.

My ice is hollow and my freezer looks like an ice cavern.

Check the fill tube where the water comes into the ice maker. Chances are there is a blockage somewhere and little water is getting to the ice maker and the rest is spraying over into the freezer.

Leaking water from freezer, have no clog in drain. Ice and water fall down back of inside freezer!! Water on floor a lot?

Good day,
Sounds as if the fill tube to the ice maker is either plugged with ice, broken, or adjusted improperly.
Remove the ice maker, then the fill tube needs to be inspected closely for the issues above.
As well, the fill valve in the bottom rear of the machine might not be shutting off completely after filling the ice maker well. If that is the case, the valve is non serviceable and must be replaced.

LG french doors, bottom freezer. Water leak from

Make sure your ic maker is empty. On the bottom of the ice maker is a small button. Watch the plastic fill tube and hold the botton in. Let the ice maker cycle anmd see if the water over shhoots rne ice maker. If it does, trim 1/8 of an inch off of the tube with a raxor knife on an angle = / this should take care of your problem.

We have a GE Profile refrig, circa 1995. The ice

If you are sure it is caused by the ice maker or if it is not it can be fixed. The only way an ice maker would leak like that is if ice is blocking the inlet tube and when the water comes on the water is spewed in a different direction than the ice maker. Most times this is caused by a slow leak in the water control valve for the ice maker side at the rear of the refrigerator. You can stop the problem by melting the ice in the fill tube with a hair dryer and keeping an eye on it until you see ice beginning to build up there again. That would indicate a slow leak in the water control valve that is not closing all the way when off. The other reason for large pools of ice in the freezer is a frozen over defrost condensate drain behind the cover in the rear of the freezer and would require you to unplug power and remove the rear panel. I will try to get some photos and a link shortly that covers that problem a lot more in just a few minutes. Sea Breeze
