  • Often, the hardest part of the repair process is finding the leak. If it is not obvious, inflate the mattress and put water in a turkey baster. Pour water out of the baster on the mattress. Start along the seams, the most typical place to find a leak. Most air mattresses have channels or depressions, which is typically where a leak will be found. The water will bubble where the hole is, indicating where you need to repair.
  • Once the hole is located, dry off the area. The turkey baster can also be used to remove water. Mark it with a pen so you can find it.
  • Cut a patch and place rubber cement on it and the mattress where the hole is. Most people like to do this step with a deflated mattress, but it doesn't really matter. Press the patch onto the hole and let it dry.
  • Many people claim success with rubber cement and duct tape instead of the vinyl or PVC patch. Apply rubber cement to the mattress surface and the duct tape, and press the duct tape on the hole

There will be a hole in a seam most likely. Take some soapy water and go around the seam on the top rim where it goes together and locate your leak.
If the top won't stay full of air there is definitely a leak.

Attach the hose from the lower part (the pump) to the lower hole (intake) on your pool. The attach the hose from the taller part (the filter part) to the taller hole on your pool.

Open the spigot on both parts of the pool (turn, lift and lock into open position) openings. You'll hear water fill up the filter section. Make sure the knob on top of the filter section is a little open and let the air bleed out. You'll know when it is full of water when it starts spitting water out. Close the top then.

Plug in your pump and turn it on. If it doesn't take much water in at first, reopen up the knob on top of the filter to let more air out. Once it spits water, close that up.

    Hope this helps!

When I turn on my intex pump model # 633 all it does is hum. Pump is 1 year old.

what this indicate is that there is a gap between the pump and the filter

In this pump, or filter. There is an "air relief"(air gap ) on the top of the intex filter pumps and you must bleed the air by turning the knob on the top counter-clockwise just a little.

it is a filter gap problem.

what yo are to do to fix up this problem is to fix up the filter properly on it position that is remove the filter and then reposition it the problem of hum sound will be solve .

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

The top ring on my easy set pool leaks air. How

I suppose the pool is already full of water. You could remove some of the water, then use soapy water and a paint brush to find the leak. Bubble blowing liquid is ideal for this. This will be easier on the the outside than on the inside. Once found, you may be able to fix with duct tape. But they sell repair kits that probably work better. Don't use a tire or bike tube patch - those are for rubber. I hope this helps you, and I hope the kids have fun in the pool this summer! Al K

How do I hook my 633T intex pump to my 15'x42" pool? The strainers do not attach to the black things inside the pool.

We just cut the holes bigger in the side of the pool, it works great now. Just got to make sure you do not cut it to big! I do nnot understand why they can"t make it standard.

    Hope this helps!!!!!!

New Intex FP621 4000 Pool Pump Noisy

I have a 16 x 48 intex pool with the 1inch inlet and outlet. I purchased the intex 4000 pump. The attachments are too big for the inlet and outlet so i then purchased the adapters. The plungers are very noisy and allow air to get into the pump. I removed them and hooked the hoses up to the adapters directly. That worked as long as the adapters were new. This year the seal comes loose and allows air to get into the pump. I even tried allowing the top nut to be loose to allow air to escape. This year nothing works. The pump is just too strong for the holes. I was considering cutting the holes bigger and glueing seals on there but i was concerned about creating weak spots in the pool. I am tired of spending money on it so i did the redneck thing. I can say that because well, you might consider me one. I took the inlet hose off the connector and plugged the hole with one of those little black things. I took the hose and run it up through the hole in between the liner and the poles and down into the pool. If you run it over the top it will not work correctly. Take the hose and tie them together between the two sides as best you can to keep the hose in the pool. If you look at the smaller intex pools that dont have holes, that is how they have the pump hooked to the pool. VOILA! You have an airtight inlet to the pump. You do not need to do that to the outlet because its not sucking water its just pushing it. So, just hook the hose up as you wish. When you need to clean the filter, I put wash clothes in the hoses to plug them and voila. No air gets into the filter. Done! It is actually keeping my pool clean this year. Also, i purchased one of those aqua vacuums and it does work great for this pool. Once you get the big stuff, sweep it with a pool broom and the filter will do its job. You can vacuum these pools with the filter type pumps. Next time, i will purchase a sand filter and be done with it. Happy swimming with less work.
