Question about KitchenAid Refrigerators

Open Question

I have a KitchenAid refrigerator, model KSRX25F. The refrigerator side is not cold enough. I turned the switch to the coldest setting, but the milk still turns sour and it does not get gold enough. The freezer is working fine. Please advise. Thank you. Marty Monheit

SOURCE: My freezer works perfect but

Warm fridge cold freezer problem fixed
In the freezer section there was a one screw removable panel which housed a four bladed rotary fan. One blade had broken off adn was jamming the fan from rotating. Once the broken part was removed the fan was free to rotate, but out of balance, but it did get the fridge going again. It took about one minute to replace the fan once a spare was aquired. Now I understand how it works, if one side of your fridge freezer is not working it can only be the air movement or lack of it Robert

Sounds like it has a defrost problem.  Check for thick frost buildup on the back bottom panel in the freezer first and let me know what you find so I can steer you in the right direction.  Also, give me the entire model # from the sticker inside fridge.

SOURCE: Side by side Sub Zero not cold enough.

How old is "OLDER" ? If there is no frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer you could have one of two problems. On older units the compressor wears out with years of service and no longer pumps efficiently. Or it could possibly be low on refrigerant charge. ether one of these two problems is a sign that is time to update to new unit.

If you have frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer section you then would have a problem in the defrost circuit attributed to the timer, defrost heaters or defrost thermostat.

SOURCE: Side by side Sub Zero not cold enough.

I have the same problem with the same older model, and have kept the coils clean. I've reached the clockwise limit of the freezer control. I wish the answer were that simple. I'm hoping that the oppressive heat and humidity here (Louisiana) might be a contributing factor, but that might be just a dream, and I'll have to shell out for repairs. Still cheaper than replacing it though.

Fridge warm, freezer cold. repair guy said its fine if milk is not spoiling. but set at 6 coldest temp is around 40

Can you feel air movement from the freezer to the refrigerator side through the cooling tubes when the evaporator fan is operating?

If not you might have some ice build up in the cooling tube that is not allowing the refregerator to get cold enough. Try a hair dryer to clean it.

What is the operating tempreture at mid range setting & coldest setting

There is no certain temp at mid range . If there was , I'd say 40 degrees . If there was a certain temp , at any setting , then there would be no need for a thermostat , only an on/off switch . The mid-range , is set by the factory , as a normal operating temp , to keep food safe . However , some people like their milk colder , so , they turn the thermostat higher . Like milk warmer , turn down the thermostat . Basically , the settings are a personal preference of the temperature you like your food .

My freezers works but my refrigerator

make sure all your fans are turning. maybe try to remove the knobs and see if you can turn them without the knobs, possibly they could be stripped.

GE Profile Arctica Side-by-Side Refrig PSC23MGMB IS WAY TOO COLD!

it sounds as if the ice door is not closing properly. Check the little rubber door seal to see if it is sealing properly. If not try a hair dryer to soften it. Otherwise you have to buy a door kit.
