You can get the ballast RCa part number 269043 at this link for 269.95. You have to leave an email stating what you want as they dont list all parts that they have at the warehouse, But I know they carry that ballast and they give free installation instructions with any part they sell. They will respond quickly with the info you need.

How to release the wires from all the tomb stone connectors on a 4 bulb T5 fixture in order to change the ballast?

If you are sure the ballast is gone, just cut the wire as close as possible to the ballast, throw the old ballast and buy a same wiring ballast, use wiring nuts to connect the wire from the new ballast to the wire from the tomb stone socket. DO NOT TRY TO take the wire out from tomb stone lampholder.

Just change the bulb few month ago and the screen in the lower center starting to get dark working it way up to the top

Hi, did you make sure it was the right lamp the reason is that theres two types of lamp one that shoots the light wider and another that concentrates on the center. Also check the ballast the main power of the bulb it comes to happen that when u put in a new bulb the ballast is not able to provide enough power to light up the whole screen.

Once again my HLP6163W is not working. When it powers up there is a high pitch whine that sounds like it is a miniature jet engine powering down. The power button does not work, the set just powers up...

well I'm no expert but trying to fix one my self I'd say color wheel due to the noise issue... I have had repair places tel me the wheel and bulb and ballast are problems and if an old ballast is powering up a new bulb the old ballast will prob go out soon. sounds like the tv's are just junk I'm looking for parts so any ballast light or color wheel can be mailed to 25847 melba ave homeland ca 92548 and as I learn more with them good or bad parts I'll surly post it for the good of all so we can keep the land fills empty of the stuff.
Thanks for reading model hlp6163wx/xaa only please.

Samsung hln617w dlp tv won't turn on. Red temp

Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.

Hlp6163wx new color wheel new bulb new ballast still wont turn on just a black screen have sound but no picture then it says light then flashes the other green one then the red then powers off then tries...

The next item I would try is the SMPS power supply board. If it is not producing enough voltage, the ballast won't come on so the lamp will not turn on.

I replaced bulb, I have sound but no picture. There is no light in rear of T.V.

If bulb is new, try resetting bulb life timer by owners manual, If needed, test and/or replace the ballast which controls power to bulb.

Samsung 61 after 20 mins turns off not a cooling problem checked

It could be a issue with the ballast try to check if you have a buzzing sound. if it does is most likely a issue with the ballast (only if sound cames near the lamp) you can check that just follow the cables that are connected to the lamp, take out the back cover of tv, and keep pushing the switch cover (if not tv will not turn ON). and check if that sound comes from the only board connected to lamp. if it does, you are going to need a ballast.

Samsung DLP TV won't turn on

This sounds to me like one of two possibilities. First, check your ballast. If you're going through bulbs faster than you think you ought to be, you may have a ballast that is overloading. Its the 3" x 8" circuit board that connects directly to the bulb. They are plentiful and often cheap. Thats what I'd try first. If that doesnt' do it, I would invest in a new power supply board. That the board that the tv power cable hooks directly in to. This should give you a start, Comment back if you still need further help. Good luck.
