When i refill toner it still show toner low.how sovle the problem

Good day.
First try to print a print status report. Here are the steps:
1.Push setup menu button, that would be the wrench icon. 2.Push the right button to navigate until you get to the Tools Menu 3.Tools Menu>Push button for Printer Status Report
This will give you the accurate ink levels on your printer. If it still shows low ink based on the printer status report, you have to reseat the ink cartridge and make sure the orange tape near the HP Logo on the ink cartridge has been peeled off.
If the report shows ink levels are fine, then that status report on the front panel is just a false report. Try powering off your printer and powering it back on again. As long as you don't have print quality issues, you should be fine.

Status bar keeps showing 'check ink tank'

the ink tank could be empty or wrongly installed. Try a new ink tank or re-install the one you have.

I have a message showing bk tank - code

Its detecting an incorrect ink tank.

The printer is not happy with one of your tanks. Make sure you have PB inks if it is a PG printer.

More probably the job you are printing requires the other black ink tank. Very important to make sure your status monitor is installed correctly, make sure when you send a job that it displays the ink tank levels and not question marks. You should be able to find out roughly how much ink is left through the driver (status monitor) and also what type of black is installed. If you cant, you have not got the 'Status Monitor' installed.

I can't print as it says ink gone. How do I find

If your printer is connected to a computer, double click on the printer icon on your task tray, a window should open showing the ink cartridge status for each color.
If you don't see this, send a document to the printer, and when the printer dialog box opens click on properties or preferences button you should see a box with ink status.

Just reloaded both printer inks. Does not show full on the ink status and when you try to print it just shows spooling but never prints. On the screen on the printer it shows full color but little black.

where did you see the ink status? On you rcomputer while pritning to an apllication? If yes dont worry about that its not that accurate., You may see the correct details about ink status if you launch your home center software and you will see there your ink status just click the help icon(?)., and also you can see ink status in your 5300 printer right? Press menu and scroll down and look for the ink status.,

I also encountered that same problem so dont owrry about that., or may be you can download also the latest firmware of your printer at

Hp 1280 printer shows orange color in the cartriage sine but ink is full.

Dear, don't be worried, you cateridge is full, it is showing the previous results. If you want to see the current catridge real status then follow these steps.

1. out the new cateridge.
2. uninstall the driver of your printer.
3. unplug the printer.
4. re-boot the system
5. install the driver now.
6. again restart the system and put the cateridge back into the printer.

This action will remove the previous data from the system registery and then your new cateridge original status will be shown.

Good luck in correcting your problem.
Best wishes with Best regards.

Brother MFC-5440CN Ink Status

I have the same problem.I did go to Staples store and the person told me to clean the heads of the cartridges with alcohol and the bottom injector. I tried that and it did not work.It keeps telling me the ink is low even if I put in new ones. I am going to try the alcohol solution to see if it works. If not I will return to store for an exchange.I really like the printer.
