Image not fully printed

Easiest thing to try first is your printer settings, where you should be able to select the exact paper size (8.5x11,legal, 4x6, 5x7, etc.). You also may need to look at the 'resize' options (fit to page, print as is, etc.). You can usually easily get to printer settings by using menu bar command File-->Print , then selecting the [Printer Properties] or [Properties] button in the pop-up print menu.

My finished print is nearly to small to read. need to increase size of print

Go to File > Print Preview and at the top of the screen that pops up there is a place where you can bring up a drop down list which lets you choose shrink to fit as well as a wide variety of percentage increases or decreases. If this doesn't help go to File>Print> and then click on Preferences on the screen that comes up check your printers settings. Don't forget to look at what size paper the printer thinks you are using and see if your printer has settings for how many pages to fit onto the document. Let me know if this was helpful.

The printer cuts off the top part of the document when printing. Is this a margin issue?

Yes, most likely your application's margin settings are incorrect. Try printing a test page - NOT from the application. If this is Windows, go to printers in control panel, right-click on the subject printer, choose Properties, then click the Print Test Page button. You should get the standard Windows printer test page with the logo at the top and all the printer specifics below. If the test page is also cut off, look around in the HP-provided software for any margin and/or page size settings that are incorrect, such as A4 paper when it should really be Letter size.

How do I change the print size on my D4160 hp printer

There basically two approaches to changing the print size of your printer whether D4160 printer or any modern other particularly hp printer.
1. Go to file/print or simply do ctrl P on your keyboard. The print menu pops up. Go to properties/features. When the features tab opens look for resizing options. Under resizing options you will see print at actual size and scale to paper size. Select scale to paper size and list box will activated. Select the paper size to scale to from the list. If you are not familiar with paper sizes then this list introduction should do. The conventional official paper size is A4, half of that is A5, and half of that is A6.
2. The other procedure is to simply right click on the image and select print. A print wizard pops up. It enables you to chose size of images and automatically fits them into 1 per page, 2 per page or 4 per page depending on how many images you selected in the first place. However this is meant specifically for images/photos.
3. Again you may decide to physically resize them in the application (Word, CorelDraw etc) you are working with before sending print.

The printer will not print on the half inch left edge of the page.

go to settings and change the left margin to 0.0. if in Word, then file->page setup and set the margins to what you want, left margin to 0.0 in your case.

My printer keeps repeating old subjects, and the print is very small... new inkjets are in.. Nothing else to add... I can't get it to print from my computer... the copies are ok.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "repeating old subjects", but that sounds like a printer queue issue. Try the following, and test printing after each step.
  1. Reset the printer. (instructions here)
  2. Print a self-test report. (here)
  3. Clear the print queue (see here)
As far as the size of the print, you will need to adjust this setting in the application you are printing from...In other words, you have to change the size of the text in the original document.
If you're printing from an IE browser, check the File>page setup options and make sure your haven't checked shrink-to-fit. Otherwise, use the File>Print Preview command to monitor the size of text in the printed material. In the browser, zoom adjustment affects the printed output.
On the other hand in Word, etc, you'll need to Format the font size in the document to change the printed text to a larger size.
(The zoom level adjustment only affects your view of the document at hand).

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Keeps popping up "paper source setting not set properly"

I'm guessing (wildly) that the printer is an R2400 (although there's no guarantee of that it seems :) )...

Anyway, the problem is most likely to be in the printer driver settings used on your computer.

You need to go to:

- Start
- Printers & Faxes
- Locate your printer
- Right click on the printer and choose "printer preferences"

From here you need to ensure that all your settings for paper size, etc... are correct.

You also need to ensure that whatever you're actually printing has the correct page setup using the same paper size.

Hopefully that will correct your problem.

Printer keeps saying change paper size

Go to Control Panel - Printers and on MF3310 right click and choose Default settings. I had to change page size from Letter to A4 and output size from Match page size to A4 as well. Finally, after 4 hours of investigations it worked.
