8 Beeps is an abnormal temperature rise error. Your print head is defective and overheating.

The printer is fine. Just replace the print head and it will work.

I just recived a used BJC-85 its is printing fine in black and white but not color whats wrong

Try some of the following possible problems:

1. Make sure the color cartridges are installed correctly.
2. Make sure the cartridges are not expired. There should be a date on the sticker on them.
3. Make sure that the cartridges are clean. Sometimes the ink can build up on the cartridges and stop ink from coming out.
4. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes. Find your printer and right click, then press Printing Preferences. In the options there make sure that color is selected.

Will not print

Check on Canon.com, for the users manual, When you install cartridges you hold the resume button for the number of beeps to identify which cartridge is installed. You can install one black ink or one each black and color but you have to tell the printer which is installed.

They are available on eBay, just search for BC-11e and usually a dozen are on sale. Just make sure to get a brand new one, not a used one.

Canon printer bjc 85

you need a new printhead, either bc10 for black or bc-11 for color, you also need to check your owners manual to set the printer for the correct printhead type.

CANON BJC-85 Won't print black...

Turn on printer, press cartridge button, remove cartridge. On left side of remaining cradle, unsnap the cradle, lift up and remove. Take the cradle to your sink, wet a paper towel, and GENTLY wipe the long print head with the wet paper towel. Then run a small stream of clear cool water through the cradle, from the round pad that your cartridge rests on, until the pad looks ink-free. Dry everything with tissues and a hair dryer set on low, replace cradle in printer, replace cartridge, turn on printer, press Resume until it beeps three times, which runs the deep cleaning program, and after the procedure is finished, your printer will print as new.
