I too am having problems with my Samsung RS2555SL ice maker. The tray twists to eject the ice, but then gets locked in that turned position and won't go back to the 'fill' position. I bought an entire new unit, installed it, pushed the test button & it all works perfectly! however, now it won't fill with water!!! I've checked the service manual and ran a diagnostic. I got an I/M function error code "5" which says the ice ejector and level failed 3 times or more but don't know how to 'reset' it so that it will start to fill with water! Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks!!!

SOURCE: ice maker will not push out ice cubes once frozer

That means that the evaporator fan system that releases the the ice cubes is not working as it should.

The heater, or evaporator fan and heating system must be checked, and fan, or solenoid, or element must be replaced.

Use the number listed on the owner manual if you want to call a technician.

Enter model number on this website to find schematics and replacement parts.

SOURCE: Samsung ice maker tray won't reset

I had the same problem and would "temporarily" fix it by opening the front plastic cover (remove the 4 screws) and CAREFULLY remove the front - sometimes all the plastic gears will fly off but you can get them back because they only fit one way. Once the gears are off, you can reset the tray back to its fill position. Fit the gears back into place. Replace the front cover and it worked like a champ for a couple of weeks when I'd have to do it all over again. I finally got tired of it and ordered a new unit through ebay. Easy to replace BUT now the water won't come on to fill the tray!!!! UGH Hope this helps

You could try to Reset the ice maker. there should be a red button by the side of the icemaker. After resetting, wait 24 hours and check if ice production has begun. please also check this very useful guide on how to get on otherwise.
If your ice maker still doesn't produce ice after following all of these suggestions, schedule your unit for service

SOURCE: Samsung RS265TD Ice maker does not

Hello
Either the fill solinoid is bad or the inlet tube at the ice maker is frozen.
Try running a hair dryer to remove any ice that may be blocking the water from coming into the ice maker tray.

The icemaker of our Samsung side by side refigerator gets full and clogged up frequently and although we can hear the machine churning inside, ice is not dispensed. We have put in a new water filter after...

Either the icemaker support is broken, DA61-01801A or the ice tray is damaged or has lime buildup. The ice tray is supposed to twist when it flips: an off-center stud on the tray catches the support, while the tray is still turning. If it does twist but does not release ice - replace or clean the ice tray, part number DA63-02284B

Ice maker not ejecting ice and then tries to fill tray and leaks

The Ice Maker Tray had a small plastic piece break off. This piece aids the tray in bending to dislodge the ice from the tray. Bosch does not just sell the tray, you will have to buy the whole ice maker assembly. You will need to order Part # 0422 from Bosch. I was not very happy about having to spend $112.00 for this whole assembly when all I really needed was a simple ice cube tray.
Save the $112 and remove the ice maker. Buy Ice at the grocery store.

This is good! This indicates a defrosting system failure which is a simple control problem. It also means that the sealed system (compressor, evaporator coil, and all associated tubing) is fine as wine in summertime. Defrost system problems are easy fixes that anyone with a pulse can do with maybe just a little help from their friends. The problem will either be the defrost timer (or Adaptive Defrost Control board, if so equipped), the defrost thermostat, or the defrost heater. Samsung RS2555SL Ice Maker gone nutty!

The icemaker relies on the motor to twist the ice tray about 120 degrees or so the dump the ice out of the tray. In order to get the ice to separate from the tray the force of the motor actually torques the tray against the rear plastic support (much like you would twist an old fashioned ice tray that you fill up by hand). Anyway, this puts a lot of force on the plastic elements that support the tray and they break after time. Once the plastic support breaks in the back there is nothing to get the ice out of the tray and each subsequent filling of the ice tray results in water spilling all over the ice bin and eventually leaking out the front of the refrigerator. You can order the part and fix it yourself (the part is DA61-00244A and is available from a number of websites. Total cost about $16 with shipping.
