You should have plenty of USB ports on your motherboard. or your case. If you don't have any open USB ports you can get a USB to PS2 adapter.

You will have to purchase a new receiver. There is no software solution for a lost mouse receiver I am afraid

Mouse highlights everything

Your left-click button on the mouse sounds like it may be broken. A few things to try before buying a new mouse:

- If it is a wired USB mouse, unplug it from it's USB port. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back in.

- If it is a wireless mouse, unplug the small USB Dongle from it's USB port. Wait 10 seconds and reinsert the Dongle.

- If wireless, check the batteries in the mouse itself.

- Try another mouse. ( If the problem persists with a different mouse, it is a software issue and should be addressed in a new question. )

- Try another USB port. ( If the problem persists while using a different USB port, it is a software issue and should be addressed in a new question. )

My USB plug in thing for the mouse broke. Does anyone know where i can buy a new one?

It is called a dongle. To be perfectly honest, the price of a wireless mouse has sugnifacantly decreased, and they extremely affordable. I have seen them below 10 bucks. It is also possible to purchase a mouse that needs no dongle...some are bluetooth (if your laptop has that feature) and others are wifi capable. Of course the least expensive will be with the USB Dongle. Hope this helps.

I HAVE A NEW NOTEBOOK AND WIRELESS MOUSE.

When you purchase the wireess mouse it should come with a USB device that plugs into a USB port and reads the mouse, all wireless mouses need a USB eye to read the mouse.

Good luck.

You can use a wireless mouse. You can buy a microsoft wireless mouse and if your acer comes with a bluetooth option then you can buy a bluetooth mouse to save on usb ports.

Lost the Mi mouce usb ir indicator

First, contact the manufacturer to verify with them if you can buy a separate USB IR dongle.

The USB dongle should work with your wireless mouse, though it's not the original receiver of it. They just need to detect each other and they will work together.

But if the manufacturer say that, you cannot buy a separate USB IR receiver, then you need to check the mouse itself and see if there's a USB port and check if it's capable of becoming a wired mouse.

If that's the case, you just need to buy a USB cable, then you can use your mouse as a wired mouse.

NOTE: Not all mice are capable of converting itself from wireless to wired. You just need to check your mouse. And that is only an option.

Good luck!

Windows vista which USB cable do I need to use a

As far as I am aware the mouse you are talking about is NOT blue-tooth but a regular wireless mouse.

It came with a small wireless dongle that plugs into ANY regular usb port and does not need a cable.

Blue tooth does not usually use cables either as it is a wireless format but different to regular wireless

If your mouse is blue-tooth then you should ensure that your laptop or pc also has blue-tooth.

Should it not have blue-tooth then to use the mouse you would need to purchase a usb blue-tooth adapter. this is not a cable but is classified as a "dongle" you that's true !
This dongle plugs into any regular blue-tooth port on occasion windows will detect and install the required files but some blue-tooth dongles will come with a cd that you need to install.

What is the difference between mouse connected to mouse port and mouse connected to usb port ?

Nothing other than the port that they plug into. New mice will typically use USB ports and older mice typically use a PS/2 port. Careful buying a new PC or Mouse, make sure that your computer has the port that is needed for the Mouse to plug into.

Please rate, thanks.

The USB ports all share a single power source. It may be that the Ipod being added overloads the connections.

You might want to consider purchasing a USB hub, but make sure you get one with a Power Adapter to boost the current to your devices.
