Question about Asko W6441 Front Load Washer

Open Question

I have an Asko W6461 Quattro 1600 RPM. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. I have spent so much money, water, electricity rewashing clothes because it always smells musty and moldy. I have checked with my manual and there was nothing stated about this potential problem. A customer service rep kept denying there was a problem until she finally admitted it and told me that I had to clear out the drain and the bottom of the machine after every wash (ARE YOU KIDDING ME???) and to run a cleaning agent for front end loaders found at stores every once in awhile and to clean the rubber seal. I have done all this and nothing seems to work. My towels especially smell. I remove them from the machine as soon as the machine is finished and it smells. I will get a "clean" towel from the drawer to dry dishes and as soon as it gets wet, the musty, moldy smell reappears. The same with a "clean" towel that is used after a shower. I do not know what else to do aside from pushing the machine out the window and telling anyone who will listen to never purchase this machine.

SOURCE: Bad Musty Moldy Odor in Washer

Run a wash on the highest temperature, and add some vinegar into it. May do this more than one time. Be strict to wash on the higest temp some times in the month.

Good Luck

Unplug the machine. Remove the filter, take a flashlight and get your head down to check if something has fallen deeper in filter and pump housing which block the pump turbine. Also, make sure to check if the outlet hose isn't clogged or jammed with something too.

SOURCE: Clothes smell.

Mold, mildew and other fun things use washers as a breeding ground. Clean your machine with a generous amount of white vinegar run through a cycle. Or there is a product called Affresh you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot.

Check the drain line to make sure the water does not siphon out as it enters the machine.

Check that the cold water is turned on. The washing machine uses cold water to rinse, and if the cold water is not on, unit will end without completing cycle.

Asko washing machine won't drain.

Further on to this F3 problem I had the issue on model W6461. There is a short cut to the fix, instead of taking off the grey pipe from the drain pump (the hose clips are pre crimped in the factory so as stated above are difficult to remove) try this.
Stages as follows:
1) Open drain pump door (bottom left of machine).
2) Remove black pipe and drain residual water.
3) Unscrew coin trap and remove, use a container to hold the water.
4) Leave the container underneath and make sure you have some towels ready (I didn't at the time)
5) Where the washing machine drain hose connects to the outlet or U bend connector remove this and expose the end.
6) Blow into the drain hose as hard as possible......hopefully the blockage will clear through back the coin trap.

Result:
A large lump of sludge, three of my 5 year olds small counter coins and about a litre of water.

Just ran the machine now and fault cleared.

Good luck

Don't need those bolts except for shipping the washer. They were supposed to have been removed a long time ago.
