USB Non-responsive Keyboard and mouse not recognized by any USB port. Tested both of them on different tower; they're functional! Tried using different ports both front 'n rear. Disconnected power supply for 15 min.; then restarted. Removed cover and disconnected USB cables to motherboard; then re-attached. Cleared CMOS by moving the shunt. Without keyboard input, I can't enter BIOS to enable/disable USB setting. All of above have produced no change in Mobo detecting USB devices. System is (8) months old. Thanks for any help.

Perhaps its the drivers for the USB ports. Do you have or can you borrow a serial mouse and keyboard (PS/2 style)? If not, perhaps a local computer store may have an adapter to convert your USB devices to PS/2. Look at this site to get a visual of the device I am talking about: http://sewelldirect.com/ps2tousb.asp

This will allow you to bypass the USB portion of your computer and allow you to make the necessary changes in BIOS or to see if it is indeed a driver problem.

My mouse wont get recognized

Have you tried to use the mouse in another computer to determine that the mouse if fully working. There are many reasons why it could be non-recognised. Has it ever worked on your system? Is it new and just a faulty mouse. It may be you could just take it back to the shop for a replacement one. Do other devices work in the same USB port. Some times my computer just stops recognising my USB keyboard yet it has been working for months. I found that it seems to be the USB port where the problem is. So not I just switch my mouse and Keyboard usb connectors around and it starts to recognise both again. I can not figure out why it stops. As another device is recognised suggesting the port is not faulty.

Bluetooth mouse and keyboard are lagging on computer with big screen monitor

We had a similar problem with ours when connected via a KVM, response was very slow or laggy, resolved it our side by adding a USB extension cable and putting the USBport antenna off to one side away from the switch and screen, works fine now so could be interference.

My Acer KU 0760 keyboard is not working at all. Seem as if the computer doesn't recognize it at all. The mouse works in the USB ports, but nothing from the keyboard. Had old gatway keyboard laying...

Try the keyboard in the USB port you've been using for your mouse. Just move your mouse to a different USB port. I know, this seems like a "too simple" solution, but USB ports sometime get cranky.
A question I would have would be: have you been using a PS2-type keyboard prior to trying to use the Acer USB one? Sometimes the BIOS needs the item "use USB port for keyboard" turned on.
Good luck!

My usb ports wont recognize my plug ins

One of the USB devices might be overloading the ports. If you can use a non-wireless mouse and keyboard first and then plug the hard drive in. Try plugging the drive into another computer. If you don't have one, maybe check with a friend and make sure the drive does not have any problems. While you are at the other computer, try the wireless mouse and keyboard and see if it works ok on it

Problem with KVM switch and Vista

Your problem has nothing to do with the Operating System (Vista), it has something to do with the brand of your computer. I have similar problem before, I have Vista (Dell), but the time I connected another Vista (Sony Vaio), everything worked correctly.

This is what you need to do:

1. You have to make sure that you are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse.

2. Connect first the keyboard and mouse directly to the Vista computer to see if the USB ports of your computer are working properly.

3. You may power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers (including the keyboard and mouse) and leave it disconnected for 2 minutes.

4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the computers.

5. Try using different USB keyboard if problem exist after power cycling the KVM switch.

Acer wireless mouse and keyboard connection problem

Unplug the USB cable associated with the keyboard and mouse while the computer is still on. Plug it back in to a different USB port. This should cause Windows to re-detect them and reinstall the drivers automagically. Let me know if that works.

KB985W mouse works but my keyboard doesn't

Did you use the CD software program that came with the Keyboard and mouse to install the Keyboard?
Also try connecting the Receiver to another USB port to ensure that you don't have a bad USB port.
Hope this helps. Bud
