Replace the Horizontal output transistor and also the flyback transformer. Thats the number one cause of a phillips that chirps.

I have this same problem. How easy/hard is that to do? Where would I get the parts? And where can I learn how to do this?

Zaronia, did you try the suggested solution? Did it resolve the problem? I'm seeing the same thing with my TV and I'd like to try the same solution, but I'd be interested in your results before I proceed. Thanks!

Royce, any follow-up? How did it go?

SOURCE: No Pic or Sound

It sounds like a defect in the horizontal drive or HI voltage circuit. Could be the Horizontal output transistor , and /or the flyback transformer, a short in the scan derived power supply on the output of the flyback transformer. If your not aware of the HI VOLTAGE issues and have soldering experience you should seek a pro to assist ya in this repair. If you do have the experience, get a schematic and start with the hi voltage circuit. Good Luck

I have no pic or sound except a chirping noise , sounds like a cricket , LOL , timer light stays red , there was a odor , like a burnt smell

Hello. The chirping probably indicates a shorted transistor or diode, and the burnt smell usually indicates a blown capacitor or a burnt resistor, or multiple damaged parts. I would have to see the TV to be of any further assistance. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck.

Good Day, Butchilee,
Sounds like you have patience, hope your TV has some trace left. Hit recommends that you replace the originals with
STK-392-150's and the resistors. Replace said items with care then back down on the screen/ focus controls and gradually bring the screens up until you have pic, adjust focus. Go into customer menu and adjust color down, set brightness to 50%, contrast to 100%. Then go back and adjust the screens for proper, black/white, tracking. AND It's best to double check the soldering connections.
Good Luck, Big Irish.

When tv turned screen is blank and chirping sound comes from back

A chirping sound usually means that one of the secondary supplies has shorted, most likely the horizontal output transistor. The power supply "chirps", which is the sound it makes when it protects itself from drawing too much current. The set should be serviced by someone with experience in Philips projection TV'.
