SOURCE: Door not closing properly.

take door off and pack bottom hinge with washers. make sure hingebrackets on cabinet are tight. however, door hanging a bit should not really affect sealing. if seal is gapping, one solution is to warm with a hairdryer and pull outwards gently

SOURCE: sub-zero 500 series refrigerator door wont stay closed

If Your Refrigerator's Freezer Door Pops Open When You Close the Fresh Food Door... If a 'top-freezer' refrigerator's freezer door pops open when the larger fresh food door's closed, it's actually a good thing. That tells us the seals are in great shape, sealing well.
Some freezer door 'pop' is unavoidable bc the bottom door's so much larger than the top one and the hydraulic effect of compressing all that air kicks in. The two compartments share the same air via a duct between them, and that compressed air rushes up into the freezer compartment and can 'pop' the door.
To improve the situation, apply a few drops of oil (sewing machine oil or 'three in one' - NOT WD-40) to each freezer door hinge pin. (Even better: if you can, pull the doors and coat the hinge pins with petroleum jelly). This will help the freezer door swing back closed by itself. The freezer door usually stays ajar because it's binding a bit, and that's usually caused by it's swinging 'dry', with no lubrication.
It’s also a good idea to ‘kick’ the habit of letting the refrig door close hard.

SOURCE: freezer door wont seal and stay closed

Your pushing air from the fridge part over to the freezer door when you clos it,the only thing i can suggest is make sure that the seal (which is magnetic) is clean and not falling apart, inspect it all around the door, and when closing the door i would close it gently.

Hope this helped.Let me know by rating me or

Subzero refrigerator/freezer, model 590. Door gaskets replaced last year, but it still ices up in top front of freezer? Any ideas?

Ice or frost in the freezer can be caused by one of Three issues:
    • An improperly closed door.
    • Improper ventilation of the freezer.
    • The Ice Maker Flap.
    1. Door Not Closed Properly
    • Make sure that the freezer door closes completely.
    • Make sure that the door gaskets are attached properly to the door and that they are clean. Also, make sure they are sealing properly and are not torn or split.
Take a dollar bill and close it in the door. If you can pull the dollar out with no resistance, the seals should be replaced.
    • Make sure there are no packages resting against the rear wall of the freezer.
2. Improper Ventilation
    • Make sure there are no packages resting against the rear wall of the freezer.
    • Space your food out as much as possible to improve ventilation.
    • Make sure that the air vent in the freezer is not blocked.
    Refrigerator Compartment
If your refrigerator is freezing food, the temperature is set too low. Raise the temperature a few degrees to fix the problem.
If your refrigerator temperature is too high, condensation may build up and freeze on the bottom of the refrigerator. Lower the temperature a few degrees to fix the problem.

How do I fix a freezer door that pops open when the refrigerator door is closed ?

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. I appreciate your post!

Often when one door is closed and the other opens, it is because either the hinges are damaged or your refrigerator has a poor door sealed. Trying checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and the door. Now close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocking by anything stopping it from closing. If the gasket is not sealing properly, it may possibly near replacing. Since there are cost differences in parts it is always a good idea to have a certified technician properly diagnosis your appliance. Best regards!

The door wont shut properly

see this causes and use the common sense.God bless you
When your dishwasher door has a problem, check these: Latch Springs Hinges Door seal Latch The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem. If the latch has worn out in a way that makes it impossible for you to close the door properly, you probably need to replace the latch. Springs Your dishwasher has two springs that counterbalance the weight of the door. If either or both of these are broken, the door feels quite heavy and you need to replace both springs. Hinges The hinges are important to the door closing properly. If they're bent or deformed, you probably need to replace them. Once bent, only rarely can they be straightened well enough. Door seal If your dishwasher is new--or if you have just replaced a door seal--the door may be difficult to latch for a week or two. If the tightness persists, though, try adjusting the latch, if it's adjustable. If it's not adjustable, there's probably nothing you can do immediately. But try running the dishwasher on the highest heat cycle to help the seal conform to the door. Otherwise, the seal should compress over time.

Need gaskets for CSX20E Hotpoint side by side

Seals don't lose their magnetism. Check the door closes all the way round and adjust the hinges if it doesn't sit straight. Check there isn't a relief valve frozen up or blocked (it allows air to escape when the doors are closed). Check the drawers are fully pushed back in and not stopping the door closing properly

I have an Inglis fridge and when door is closed there is about a1/8 of a inch space between the seal at the top and fridge . Bottom seals properly

That can be caused by hardening of the bottom seal due to ice build up in the seal or the door hinges need adjusting by loosening the lower hinge and pulling it out slightly to compensate for the door seal.

The passenger side front door has a terrible draft noise when we are moving. We cannot feel a draft at all, but something is not right. The seal is obviously not working correctly. What should I look for...

Is the seal correctly fitted? Does the door rattle when it is closed properly? Does it look like it is not properly shut when it is closed and if you push it from the outside is there a bit of give? If so your slam plate needs to be loosened and pushed in a bit to hold the door tighter, not too much or the door won't close at all. Another thing you can look for it a badly fitting window frame. If there is too much space between the car body and the window frame wind will whistle arond the gap. To see if that is the culprit, seal it with duct tape and take it for a ride. If that is the problem, open the door.wind the window fully down, stand between the car and the open door and carefully pull the top of the window frame towards you. If you can movw it in by 1/2 inch it will make an effective seal when the door is closed. Go carefully though.

The door of the fridge does not close properly, You have to press hard on the door so that it closes airtight. Also, the freezer does not have a light.

The door closing can be a couple things. The door can be sagging. This can be fixed at the hinge pins. It can be overloaded with heavy things, causing the bottom to twist outward, this can be fixed by not storing as much weight in the door. And it could be the door seal. Replacement is required, if it doesn't have the elasticity that it should. I would try the first two things first, the door seals are not cheap. When it is fully aligned, close the door on a dollar bill. It should have a little resistance when pulling it out The more, the better.
The freezer light could just be a stuck switch in the door. Condensation can get in it and freeze when the door shuts, holding the switch in the off position.

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.

Dishwasher door leak

Hi

Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Also,The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable.

A Fixya rating would be appreciated if you have found this solution Helpful.

Thanks
