Good day,
If it is under 1 year old, then it is under warranty. Sounds as if the defrost system failed, but you will need to call your selling dealer for a warranty service call. It should cost you nothing.

No ice.... refrigerator getting warm..... freezer also getting warm

here are a couple of things to check. First look at the back inside wall of the freezer and see if it is getting coated with frost or snow. If yes, you probably have a problem with the defrost system usually the defrost heater burns out first. Once you replace the heaters, all the excess frost has to be melted off the cooling coils behind that wall. A hair dryer works well for this. Another thing t check is the fan motor that is back behind that same wall. If the fan stops for any reason--- you loose cooling on both sides.

Hello,

Sounds like a defective defrost timer
If its a frost free upright freezer and the evaporator is frosting up with a snow like frost you have a defrost problem.. defrost themostate, heaters, or timmmer
Also note that
Dirty condenser coils are not the problem. It's most likely the defrost timer or defrost heater. The heater should come on about 3 times per day to melt the ice on the evaporator coils. If the defrost timer is not turning on the heater or the heater is burnt out, the coils will freeze up......

Hope this helps

My KSRS25ILBL03 side by side - the freezer has lots of frost, the bottom of the freezer if full of ice. I removed the ice (hairdryer), found the drain to the bottom pan frozen. Cleared that, & water...

main reason for lots and lots of frost is door seals not tight all round.look along the length of them to make sure and adjust by pulling/pushing into shape, also are the doors level???? would also cause doors not to be airtight.(adjusters/feet are under both outside corners).

I have a 20 year old sub-zero refrigerator. For the last two weeks the refrigerator is so cold that everything is freezing. If I turn down the thermostat the freezer warms up.

It sounds like the freezer side is losing its capacity......All cooling done on the refrigerator side is done by air flow of the fan in the freezer compartment by the evaporator coils(aluminum fins looks like a radiator)
You might want to pull the back panel of the freezer section and look at it.
Normally it is fully frosted when running(whitish snow covering on evaporator) If it is only partially frosted it has a freon leak or compressor problem. If it is engulfed in frost and there is no air flow possible through it your defrost system has failed. My guess is it is partially frosted and you have a freon leak.

Also check the fan by the compressor is running on the outside and the condensor coils on the outside on the bottom are clean.( fan runs when compressor runs)

Ice forming in freezer refrigerator not getting cold

Replace your heater and thermostat behind the back wall of the freezer. the air will not flow from the freezer to the fridge because of all the forming ice. Also replace the defrost timer. take your model number into a local parts store and they can get you the parts. This is very common!!!!! But pretty easy to do.

Whirlpool refrigerator stop cold but frosting bad

Hello Catherine Fu,
Welcome

You said, you got this whirlpool double door refrigerator for 4 years. cost me about 1.5k. the second year, right after warranty, the main brain is down-the light panel in the refrigerator is off. whirlpool tech told me to replace it will cost me 500, so you decide not to do it. Now you have bad frosting issue for 6 month. Inside the Refrigerator, the water keep on dripping on side wall and glass drawer ceiling. In the freezer, frosting all over each drawer, and the bottom drawer has too many frosting and ice that i can hardly close the door. Last night, the refrigerator section just don't get cold anymore, it shuts up by itself.
Help!! It is an very expensive refrigerator and ONLY 4 years old .

First,I think you need to have a new tech.
It sounds like you have either an air leak allowing out side air in and this causes the icing.
Or you may need some freon (coolant gas) .
If your freon pressure is low it can ice up.
Did that tech that was there check for a freon leak and also check the pressure of the freon in the lines???
You need to call a different tech and let him see what's happening.
Some company that is reliable!

Let me know what they do for you.
God bless, Huuum

FRIDGE FREEZER BUT FRIDGE STOPPED WORKING FREEZER WORKING OK

look on the back wall of the freezer is there snow? if so you have a defrost component out (timer, limit, or heater) the fresh food compartment gets cool air from the freezer so check for blocked air pathways the build up of frost in the freezer stops air flow so you will be cold on freezer side and warm on ref side

Fridge and freezer not cold enough since we moved

remove the panel at the reaar of the freezer. you should have a full frost pattern on your evaporator (frosted not snow packed) and the fan should be running. if you do not have a full frost pattern then you have a sealed system leak. covered under the first five years of your warranty

Freezer is producing"snow" and freezer burning everything

AFTER A DEFROST,HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT THE DOOR RUBBER. IT MUST BE 100% SEALED FOR A FREEZER. (SHOULD ALSO HEAR A SLIGHT VACUME WHEN DOOR IS SHUT WHEN UP NTO TEMP).ALSO MAKE SURE MOTOR IS SWITCHING OFF AT +/- 20C (TEMP).IF ALLOWED TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY TEMP WILL PULL DOWN TO CREATE EXCESS FROST.
