Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU1050SS Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

Whirlpool dishwasher, model DU1050XTPQ1, type 575-0; problem: showing no sign of power to unit and bottom of dishwasher is full of water---it apparently stopped during cycle. Is there a reset button? I have tried depressing the front panel "lock" button for five to ten seconds to unlock the system with no luck. The washer is hard wired to the home electrical system. What should be my next course of action? Thanks

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher stopped working...

It sounds like the thermal fuse in the control console has blown.
Turn power off to unit.
Remove the outer door panel and then the console.
Remove the black plastic cover from over the circuit board if it has one.
You should see the thermal fuse clipped to the circuit board housing.
If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity across it, it should read closed.
If you don't have a meter, unplug the wires from it and and hook them together.
Turn power back on to unit, hold door switches down and cancel cycle. The washer should drain the water.
If this doesn't work, check your door switches to make sure they are closing properly.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Dishwasher Not Working

Did you check the fuse in the plug (or fused spur) for the dishwasher?

SOURCE: no power

Hi lushman001

I'm Harvey the Master Plunber.

Your question is: your 3-yr-old dishwasher (Whirlpool 24-inch ) stopped in mid-cycle. A small amount standing water in the bottom of the washer. None of the control panel buttons were lit up and none of them will work. NO POWER

First check all the breakers (or fuses).
Second check the electrical connections. If you're not a qualified electrician or service tech then call one. It"s under the unit behind the kickplate.

How to clean out pump drain on DU1050XTPQ1

Hello.

HERE ARE TOOLS NEEDED AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SOLVE THE DRAINING PROBLEM BELOW.

(A) Wrench (if necessary) (B) Clean cloth(s)

Whirlpool brand dishwashers come in black, brown, stainless steel or white finishes and a variety of sizes as well. Most Whirlpool dishwashers are energy efficient, and many have features such as a sanitizing rinse, enhanced sound effects, large capacity tubs and adjustable shelves and racks. However, none of these features will help users much if the dishwasher is not draining. While this issue may require professional repair, some troubleshooting steps may help determine if there is a relatively simple cause for the problem.

1 Verify that the Whirlpool dishwasher has not lost power due to a power failure or motor overload. Wait a few minutes to see if the motor automatically resets and resumes operation. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary.

2 Press or select "Start" to resume the cycle if the dishwasher was stopped mid-cycle. Choose a new drain cycle if necessary to remove excess water from the unit.

3 Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from power. Examine the connection between the dishwasher and the garbage disposer, usually located underneath the kitchen sink. Make sure the disposer knockout plug was taken out between the two.

4 Run the garbage disposer in the kitchen sink to remove potential blockages.

5 Remove objects that may be blocking the drain on the dishwasher. Clean out the drain hose at the rear of the dishwasher.

Thanks.

My water heater error code 1 model ee3250rd055v what does this mean

Water heater is not 100% identified.
Unknown if this is gas or electric heater.

Problem posted under Whirlpool water heaters typically made by American water heater company.
Call Whirlpool 877-817-6750.
They will ask for model number and serial number located on label on side of tank.
Call is answered in USA by trained person who can answer specifics about that model, including warranty, age, regular maintenance, error codes, and possible solution for that specific model and serial number.
I have found these folks to be helpful.

Whirlpool manuals do not show that specific model:
http://www.whirlpoolwaterheaters.com/support/manuals.aspx

If you have the energy smart electric water heater with electronic control board, then error code explanation shows on the control board. Error 1 or a single flash, is start-up failure and requires tank to be full of water. Read page 10 of manual. Make sure water heater is full of water and water is coming full stream out of tub spout before turning on power. Also disconnect power from unit, make sure water heater is full, and then reconnect power to see if unit resets.

I have no power to my dishwasher. it is not the breaker and the dishwasher is hard wired. the bottom is full of water. is this a pump issue, or is there other electric parts that could have gone bad?

To answer your question directly the pump is the heart of the unit. With the stagnant water on the bottom your conclusion is correct. I don't know how old the unit is so you will have to out weigh whether it is more economical to purchase a new machine or repair it. My opinion, unless you are going to work on your own unit to replace it.. Good Luck

Ive got a flashing clean light and the dishwasher won't run. Is there a reset button or a common part that causes this problem?

Flashing clean light on a Whirlpool dishwasher is a heater malfunction (sorta) this failure code is generated when the unit does not sense a 5 degree rise in water temperature with in 15 seconds (give or take depending on model) some of the earlier models could show code under certain circumstances such as incoming water to cold.

With control off alternately press high temp scrub and heated dry till all the lights flash on and it will go into a diagnostic mode hit cancel/drain button twice and retry using the dishwasher if the code persists try running Your kitchen sink until water is hot then running the dishwasher if the code comes up again begin inspecting the heater in bottom of wash tub for damage or signs of shorting also pull out from under the counter to inpect wiring to the heater, if these look good test the safety cutoff towards the front bottom of the unit small black and silver button sized componant with two wires to it for continuity.

Still ok remove the thermistor from bottom of pump and clean it and test the ohms according to the tech sheet on the back of the toe panel on front of dishwasher, if this is ok test run the dishwasher with a high temp scrub option selected and test voltage to the heater at the two connectors directly at the heater if there is no voltage and You have properly checked the previous items the control has a bad heater relay and will require replacement.

Water intake valve in "open" position. No control. Model GU1500XTLT3, Type 575-0

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE WATER INLET VALVE THEN IT SHOULD ONLY LET WATER IN WHEN ENERGIZED (115V) IF OPEN WITHOUT POWER THEN IT IS DEFECTIVE. WATER WOULD RUN CONTINUOUS.
