Sounds like you have the Number Lock on. Press the FN or Function Key + Num Lock key to turn it off.

How do I type the copyright icon?

Hi David,

To do that you need to follow the instruction below:
To use the codes:
  • Place your cursor in the location where you wish to insert a special character.
  • Activate the numeric key pad on the right of the keyboard by pressing Num Lock (upper right of keyboard). ...
  • While pressing down the ALT key, type the four-digit code on the numeric key pad at the right edge of the keyboard.
The way I normally do it easily is search Google or Bing for "copyright" and copy the symbol from there and then paste it where it is needed.

In my key board m button tyed show 0 why

You probably have Number-lock active, test and see; u = 4, i = 5, o = 6, j = 1, k = 2 and l = 3.

On the bottom left of your keyboard you should find a key marked Fn. On the top right of your keyboard you should find a key marked Num LK. While pressing the Fn key, press the Num LK key once. this should unlock the number keys and allow you to type letters again.

Good luck ;)

When i type on my sony viao keyboard it shows numbers not words and is not random

Does this only happen with the keys on the right side of the keyboard? Check to insure that the NumLock key is not on. There should be a key on the keyboard, usually on the upper right that will say something like NumLk or NumLock, press this key and see if things go back to normal.

Hello I have an Inspiron 1420 that is typing

Hi John,
It sounds to me like you have your Num Lock on. Find the Num Lock key (it should be on the top right of the keyboard) press that key and your keyboard will return to normal.
