Hp dv6 no wireless capability - light will not go to blue from organe on f12 key press it says wifi off again wifi disabled

When you pulled the Wireless Module, then reinstalled it; you made Windows find the Drivers, again.

[When a new device is installed, Windows 'breaks it's neck' to find suitable matching drivers.
You reinstalled the Wireless Module, and made Windows think it was a new device ]

The wire terminals can 'corrode'. (It's gold plating, and gold isn't supposed to corrode. Just a term I used to explain)

The terminals on the Wireless Module can also 'corrode'.
Try using a pencil eraser on those two contact 'pins'.

The connections of the wires to Wireless Module, MUST be tight.
Can swivel if you move the wire, but not seem loose.

(That is with ALL power removed to laptop. AC adapter {Charger}, and Battery )

Still persists? Suggest new Wireless Modem Card.

1. You could try to reinstall the Z2420 driver on your computer. 2. Try to reset the wireless network adapter of your printer. Follow the instructions in this article from the Lexmark website on How to Reset the Internal Network Adapter on Lexmark Z2400 Series Printers. Open Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility to reconfigure your printer to connect to your wireless network.
Thanks.

My laptop will not connect to my wireless network, I have tried everything I can think of: I have gone to the control panel, wireless network and it says I am not connected. I have been connected for over...

In control panel where it says network connections, have you tried to right click on network connections then left click on repair connection? See if this might fix it.

I suspect that Verizon is degrading service to forcr users to mig

Anything is possible but it would take a lot of work to jam wireless signals. As a communications company, Verizon, if caught would be in hot water with the FCC. I have an idea. Are you able to change channels on your wireless and try it. Also, is there anyway you could try a different wireless router? If FIOS is coming in, there may be maintenance changes in the infrastructure that effect your internet performance.

I am unable to establish a wireless connection via thinkpad.

What kind of a message do you get? You may have to turn on radio. You can make sure it is enabled.  under connections, right click properties, if it is disabled, click enable, try to repair, delete it and then look for new hardware. Good Luck

I've had my Icebox for 2 1/2 years. Can't log on to internet.

I do not fully understand your problem I think you are trying to connect a wireless connection from a router to computer if that is the case you need to do this with a USB lead to establish your settings and once the connection is established then you can shift the computer

Problems adding new MAC address

Ok... this is an easy fix..first, turn off all the equipment including any laptops with wi-fi. then TURN ON YOUR MAIN ROUTER FIRST. Secondly turn on the cable modem..be sure its connected to the already turned on router. This will establish the router as your address the cable modem will set up as the main mac address. Then go ahead and boot up any other routers, and computers and wifi... That should keep everything connected because the router will delegate all the addresses to everything and the modem should remain "happy" with the router addres..

Let me know if this helps... and if you need anymore help.

I wish to connect a WGT 624v3 wireless router to a laptop on Vist

Hello again! No problem at all, and thank you for the information. I'll do what I can to help.
If the plan is to make a wireless internet connection with the new laptop, I would usually split it into three stages:

1) Establish a wired connection to the internet
2) Connect wirelessly from the laptop
3) Secure the wireless connection

In this case it's worth trying to connect wirelessly straight away. This is because a wired connection seems to have been established already, with the old desktop.

So the first things to do are:
A) Make sure the router is connected to the modem;
B) Switch on the router and modem. There should be some comforting green lights displayed on the front of the router, including one that looks like a wireless beacon. That shows the wireless 'access point' in the router is functioning
C) Switch on the laptop. There may also be a switch on the laptop to enable the wireless connection: if so, switch it on.

When the laptop has fully booted up, see if there is a 'wireless networks' icon visible in the laptop screen Notification Area (bottom right). If not, try restarting the computer.

If there is an icon, floating the cursor over the icon may show a message saying 'wireless networks available' or similar. Click on the icon and your relative may see a screen with an option to 'view wireless networks', or similar (I'm an XP user, so hope you can interpret here). If so, one will be an unsecured connection - hers! She should be able to click to connect. I recommend being as close as possible to the router when first connecting.

If she cannot find her own network, or there is no icon to click, or the network has previously been secured - please let me/us know.

If everything works correctly the first time (!), your relative should now have an unsecured wireless connection to the internet. This is a good time to experiment with the placement of the router and the laptop, to ensure a good signal is received. However, it is NOT recommended to use an unsecured connection for long, and not at all for anything private. It is like leaving your personal information on the doorstep for all to read. A wired connection is, by contrast, secure.

If everything works to this point, I'm happy to help with securing the wireless connection. However, establishing any connection is the first step. So, please let me/us know if anything is not clear, or does not work as hoped. Good luck!

Wireless internet

you might want to check the device manager in the system under control panel. Check if the wireless network card is installed. If it is then simply try restarting your computer, if not try to do some sort of system restore. cheers!
