Question about GE WCVH6260FWW

1 Answer

Front Load washer won't finish cycle. Gets stuck at 1 minute and clothes are drenched. In rinse and spin cycle it appears as if it is waiting for spin to begin but it never does, several minutes later in will start to add water (rinse again). This cycle seems to keep repeating itself.

That would be a problem with your timer. It is not advancing. You can get the diagram and the parts at daysappliance or partselect . com.

Our whirlpool wfs1285aw doesn't seem to be spinning and drying out clothes enough when Finished. The clothes are still drenched. Any ideas how to rectify this? Is there a filter that needs cleaning?

the rinse section spins slow while the rinsing is in process as this does 2 things
spreads the water through the clothes for a proper rinse
spins slow to equalize the cloths around the bowl
when the rinse cycle is finished and the tap is shut off it goes into a high speed spin
Your problem sounds like the program is not going to the high speed spin cycle and that would indicate a problem board
call a technician for a proper diagnosis and quote

Thank you for your post, Tom Lau!

I see that you are having a difficult time with your Frigidaire washer, FAFS4474LW, taking long a time to complete a cycle and not rinsing the clothes out enough. This could be a possible problem with your sensor or control panel on your washer. You may want to perform a reset on your washer to help clear out any miscommunication within the washer. In order to perform a reset you would need to flip the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with your washer after the reset I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional. This will help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Best of luck! -Matt

Brand new. Load gets stuck on 14 minutes or some other time & repeats over & over. Wont finish cycle. We have to use the drain & spin to get the water out but then clothes are not rinsed well....

Sounds like you are probably doing a very bulky or real off balance load on a high spin speed setting. The washer is trying to get the load up to spin speed, but the load is too off balanced. Try the lowest spin speed setting for that load. If it makes it through that, then power machine back on and just push the spin speed button until the next higher speed shows up, and then the start button if you want to spin it out better. If it still didn't make it through the original cycle on the lowest spin speed, your load must be way too off balanced, like one coat that is saturated with water. If that is the case, you may even have to squeeze some water out of it by hand before you would be able to get the washer to get it up to spin speed.

Rinse cycle

Is the unit new or used?, or does it wait and then go ahead and finish? This would be normal if it finishes on its own. Some units let things settle between cycles. If you have to nudge the control past a point then to make it finish then it is a problem which would require that the control be replaced. If it used to work different then it too would most likely be the control unit. There are numerous contacts and combinations that change from one setting to the next. Bottom line, does it get the clothes clean?? If it does the don't fix whats not broken...
