Question about Sony Walkman NWZ-S616F MP3 Player

3 Answers

The volume (UP) button does not work. When I hit the UP arrow to raise the volume, the MP3 player actually goes to the next song instead of raising the volume. Is there anything I can do to fix this? The DOWN arrow for volume actually lowers the volume as it should.

Mp3 song not plying why

make sure your sound is turned up, be sure if you have external speakers be sure they are plugged in and they are on and turn the volume half way up. Next open the speaker on the lower right side on the task bar double click on it and raise the volume up next be sure the speaker does not have a red x in it, if thats OK then update your windows media player and try again, also be sure that windows medial player does not have the volume turned down and be sure the speaker is not x'ed out in media player. hope this helps. Thanks for using fix-ya.

Volume too low

Chances are there a limit on the volume to keep it from going to loud. If the MP3 has a screen, use it to navigate to a menu and go into it's sound settings. From there, you should be able to raise the max volume to the REAL max.

Problem with MP3 player-Stops after one song

On closer look (after my long road trip to test this out), I realize when you hit Browse, there's a button on the bottom titled Play All. If you select this button, the buttons mentioned above work as intended, and the Forward, Backward buttons bring you to the next or previous songs in the list.

Let it recharge for a few hours - when an mp3 player won't turn off, use the reset button instead of letting the power drain down. Actually, i take it back - this is the worst most godawful manual I have ever seen - this is the first Mp3 player I have ever seen without a reset button.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

The record voice is stuck on and I can't get it to switch back to the mp3 songs.

Actually there are 5 buttons (6 counting the reset inside) and the
ROCKER button for volume also is a MENU button (M) if you hold in for several seconds rather than rocking up down for volume. WIth menu up you can switch from fm radio , music , voice , navigate or setup functions. These are all in the book but
Samsung is never to clear in translating their instructions to english.
