You may have a failing condensor fan, This is what happend to me until it finally stopped colling the fridge alltoghather the condensor fan was the issue see after time of use the fan just gets intermittant due to temperator changes and what not. Check the condensor fan you will be glad you did.
Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/edwy_1a56970cf1ea4620
The condensor fan seems to be running properly. I will keep an eye on it. If the fan periodically fails, would this cause the entire unit to fail until I unplug/replug? What do you think about the possibility of the start relay failing?
Thjese fans fail ether intermittantly FREEZE or temp changes then when you plug it back in the eletricity flow is re applied to the motor does this make sense?
Check the condensor fan
You said you took the back off where the fan was and it started to run again
Seems liek the insolation wore off and the fan motor frooze thus tripping the fridge to shut off the when plug is re applied then this applies currect back to that fan and the unit works again it all makes sense to me it happend to me as well I have the same model BTW
if I am way off base let me know but I think I know about this issue but if you do not like the answer there are other experts that might have other ideas, But if your cool with replacing the fan idea the accept button will be nice for effort if not reply to me or pass to another expert.
by the way the freezer fan is the fan i was talking about replacing , Thanks

You have a full 12 months warrant on this unit. You also have a 10 year warranty on the sealed cooling unit. Call 1-800-442-1230 for warranty repair.
Sorry, I misunderstood and thought it was only 1 year old. My mistake not yours. Even so it is only 6 years old and the sealed unit is under warranty. Make sure you do not have the freezer vents blocked.
Freezer vents not blocked. Freezer fan was not running but suddenly began to work after I removed the back panel!? Fridge/freezer are now at ideal temperature but the middle wall is very warm, not too hot to touch but very warm. The exterior fan and compressor are both running.
Other than the hot wall, I am concerned that the unit may once again just stop working while we are away. What could be the cause of the failures seeing as the lights remain on but the fan, compressor, filter, defrost system all seem to be working fine. I have read two other suggestions that seem feasible; the mother board (control panel?) or the relay/overload failure. Any thoughts on these?
Not sure about warranty as we did not get any paperwork when we purchased this house. However, I could phone on Monday! Thanks.
Make sure the fan blades are clean. Also clean all the coils under the unit.

There is a vent flap that controls the air between fridge and freezer. Everything is cooled from the freezer. If you remove the panel in the very back of the freezer, you will see where the vent connects. Sometimes ice forms up inside and blocks flow to the fridge.
No ice on vent. I also removed the back panel in the freezer to see if anything looked broken. The freezer fan was not running while the fridge was plugged in. Should it have been? Once I pushed the panel back in place, the fan began running again. I then placed my hand over vent in fridge and cold feel cool air being pushed across. Not sure why this was "working" as I di not fix anything.
I will wait to see if the fridge does in fact cool off. However, this does not solve my problem as to why the fridge keeps warming up every few months?

Could be a relay that isn't being activated every time. Or there is a faulty or loose wire. If you can get a hold of a voltmeter you can trace the wiring and test where power is and is not going. I have worked on these for over 10 years and that is something we need to do at times.
Relays can be tested with an ohmmeter on the ohm setting.

This usually happens due to the freezing of internal sensors and filters. I won't get into too much detail right now but you need to have the filter replaced.

I cannot locate any information regarding an "internal filter", only a water filter (which we do not have). Can you tell me abou tthe filter or suggest other options?
It seems like the freezr fan was not running. Once I took off the back panel, looked around and stuck the panel back in place, the fan began running. Not sure why? However, this does not solve my problem as to why the fridge goes out every few months?
The fridge is a 2004, came with the house ... no warranty.
