You can't usually hear yourself talk on the mic, but if what you mean is that your partner cannot hear you, make sure you have your Recording settings set to the right jack at the right sound card (assuming you have multiple sound cards), if you're using onboard sound and the front panel, you need to make sure that the audio component is set to receive analog signal from the front panel (through Control Panel > Hardware and Sound).
may I ask u how long have u had this mic because I had mine for a while and this recently started to happen to me and because of the updates sony has been releasing I believe thats the cause because mine didnt start doing that until update 2.41 was released
ok first u have to go into the ps3 settings main menu then u go to accessory setting then audio device settings and then where it says input device hit it till it says ur accessory and then go to output device and do the same and then hit ok
-> make sure mic is connected correctly in the correct slot to the CPU
->go to control panel-> sound and audio and there is seperate tab for "microphone"-> have th volume to be full
-> you can test whether the mic works there itself.
cant help much but ill try
dissconect all the wires and check their pins
all intact, straight, and good
check especially the mic connector
connect them all and make sure there's a click on hook up
more then that cant help
Try going to Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices
Click on Voice Tab and make sure the proper device is selected. Click on Volume and make sure levels are appropriate. Lastly, click on Test Hardware and wait until you can speak into the mic to see the voice levels. If you can see the voice levels, then your mic probably works and it is just an issue of configing the COD settings.
