Re: Cyan Ink not printing
The important part of question is the word "refilled" Remember that the cartridges come pressurized from the factory so when refilling you are taking a chance as to whether the cartrige will preform as expected. That is not to say that it should not work but I am sure if you replace the cartridge with a Lexmark approved cartridge the cyan will work.

Oops, You really have to print, selected black, till all Cyan ink is gone. This could take a while. Cleaning the head, won't solve anything.
If you really want to clean the ink out of the head and everything, you need special cleaning fluid. Refill shops do have this fluid. You should bring some cleaning fluid in the tube under the black cartridge, in the tube where the ink is going in. If you have a syringe you could try to gently press some fluid through the tube. Not to strong. could damage the head.
After placing back the black cartridge, select clean the head and let the printer do some black and withe print jobs, till the cyan is gone.
I had this problem after I ran a print cartridge out of ink on my HP business inkjet 1200. The Print color light stayed on solid, and would not print. After much frustration and trying many other things, I purged the air from the print cartridge pump, and that cleared the problem. To get rid of the air (which I could see through the translucent wall of the pump) I inserted a syringe needle (without the syringe) into the nozzle of the cartridge, and expelled some ink with the air. This is messy, so I recommend gloves. I have been refilling my cartridges for years.
Ok, if your brother has four cartridges then I'll assume you have black ink available. There should be a printer setting to print in black only, especially if your trying to print a colored document. If your brother only has three cartridges then cyan is necessary to form black; you will have to buy a replacement cartridge.
It is definite one cartridge is not running. You do one thing -
1. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Red. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
2. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Cyan. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
3. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Yellow. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
I am sure when you changed the color to Cyan - it did not print Cyan or blank page you got. So you must replace the Cyan cartridge or may be ink is not coming out through the passage. And first you have to check whether you have removed the plastic tape from the head of t he cartridge.
