This problem is commonly attributed to a water inlet valve (also known as a "mixing valve") that is going bad. The valve is what the inlet hoses connect to on the back of the washer. If the sediment screens appear okay, chances are the valve may be clogged or the solenoids are failing.

If you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water, the inlet valve and/or fill hose sediment screens can become clogged with sediment, calcified deposits and rust resulting in a restriction of water flow. You can try cleaning the sediment screens and the water inlet valve in a 50/50 solution of distilled vinegar and hot water to see if you can dissolve any sediment or deposits. Removing the valve from the washer and allowing it to soak in the solution for about 30 minutes, then flushing it with clean water can sometimes return an inlet valve to normal operation. If cleaning the valve does not work, however, you will need to replace it. The following link explains how:

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following web sites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices will vary between sites so shop and compare. The first three sites on the list have helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you with locating and properly identifing any parts you may need. If the model number you listed this question under is correct, the Water Inlet Valve number is 285805 and is listed as item 18 under the "Controls and Rear Panel" parts listing. The average price is less than $20.

If you have any questions, or if your model number is different, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

FH IS FLASHING ON THE WASHER AND IT HAD STOPPED WORKING ONLY 5 MNUTES INTO ITS CYCLE

Hello,

The FH error code means the computer on the control board didnt detect any water entering the washer..sometimes it doesnt detect the water entering because the filter screens on the water inlet valve are clogged with sediment and water is having a hard time entering the washer.

The filter screens can be checked by turning off water at the faucets and disconnecting the fill hoses from the back of the machine and pop the scrrens out of where the hoses connect at the washer and check for blockage in them. If they are found to be clean check the water coming out of the hoses before connecting them back to the washer...if the screens are clean and water pressure is good out of the hoses the part of the washer called the FLOW METER would need to be replaced

I am getting a EFO then E10 error message after I start a load of clothes...which means I have to cancel the load.

E10/EFO error code is an indication of a slow fill, took to long to fill, no fill or the fill water could be siphoning out the drain hose as it's filling with water.

Check to make sure that the drain hose is not stuck too far down the stand pipe and causing the water to siphon out. Check the cold and hot water supply to the washer for any restrictions. If you have a slow fill remove the hoses from the washer and check for restricted filter screens in the water inlet valve. Check for any restricted hose screens too.

E 10 code what do u do

I'm assuming your washer is a Kenmore or Frigidaire front loading washer. E10 error code is an indication of a slow fill, took to long to fill, no fill or the fill water could be siphoning out the drain hose as it's filling with water.

Cold water fills too slow. Hot OK. Hose/faucet OK. Is there a fliter/screen? Where?

remove hose from washer and you will find the screen. Get something like an ice pick and hook it to remove and clean.

Cold water fill is very slow and makes strange sound

check with the plumbing work if that is fine then better take it to the dealer to change the inlet valve. attempting to change by yourself can cause other complications.

F20 keeps appearing on our Whirlpool Duet Steam Washing machine. We cannot finish a load of laundry.

ck to see if fill hoses are connected correctly and you have good water flow through BOTH hoses to washer connection..if control senses slow fill it will f20..do not try to use cold water onlyauto temp will try to use hot to adj prest temps and will fault if no water flow detected if ok ckd screens in washer end to be sure they are clean ..also ck to see if drain hose is proper height and not in stand pipe too tight ..water may be siphoning out and washer will not fill in allowed time

Have model 88675 with slow hot water fill

I once had this problem. The solution was to remove the hot water hose connection to the washer and look at the filter/screen inserted into the end of the hose connection on the washer machine. This screen protects the washer components from foreign particles entering. You may find a badly-clogged screen, so clean it. I have seen a cold water screen clean, while the hot water screen was clogged...something to do with hot water and minerals or iron in water.
