Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.
You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.
Here is the link to the upgrade
I think this is less of an isolated issue but a universal one. As Halo 2 (and I'm assuming the version of Medal of Honour you speak of) are original xbox games, these can be prone to graphics distortion due to being emulated. I often find my Halo 2 campaign mode sometimes "ghosts" or leaves certain outlines stuck on the screen, which is irritating but nothing too major.
If this happens in any designated xbox 360 game, search the web for similar problems with the game itself, if not give Microsoft a call. Bring food, it's a long call wait :)
