With these pool cleaners, there are several things that you will want to check. The most likely is debris caught in the flapper. You might want to just double check and make sure that you do not have any debris. Also, check to ensure taht the main drain and all suction lines are closed except for the line that you are using for your Kreepy Krauly. Finally, check for debris in your filter and pump that would prevent proper suction to the cleaner.

Just installed new Korky flapper and seal, it all seems centered well, but the flap doesn't seem heavy enough and almost floats, so the tank won't fill. Is it possible to weight it down?

Theoretically, a correctly installed flapper gets pulled down to seal by suction created as tank contents are dumped. In the real world, you may have to add weight to help the flapper seat. Frequent cleaning of both flapper and seat helps.

If there is not an obvious connecting point on the top of the flapper, it may have broken or worn away. You may have to replace the entire flapper.

Why does the flap close before water flushes

the flapper is pushed down too far on the vent tube. leave about 1/2 inch of space between the bottom of the flapper flange when you seat it over the vent tube. make sure the flapper is level. if the flapper is too close to the bottom of the vent tube, it will slam shut before the flush is finished.

How to install spring on french door flapper/divider for Samsung RF266

On mine one end of the spring broke off in the hole on the door. It was on top of the hinge so it looked like a pivot pin. I found that this was the second hole for the spring. I pushed the end of the new spring up under the hinge and popped the broke piece of old spring out. Now I could see the 2 holes. You then need to put the spring into each hole. The hole on the flap also needs a white plastic sleeve if that is missing. that goes on the end of the spring and fits into the flap hole. Then the trick part is understanding how the spring works? If you put both ends of the spring in the holes and shut the flap, it now stays in position to close and be flipped open by the guide that swings it open to seal.

Good Luck.

Glacier bay toilet leaks around the flap

The flapper replacement comes with a rubber ring that slides down over the fill tube to seat. If the old flapper ring does not remove easily, you may have to cut it to remove it. The replacement flapper also comes with ears that mount over hooks at the base of the fill tube on some toilets. You cut the flapper where indicated to remove the ring before installing.the ears on the hooks. If you buy a carded replacement, all of this information will be on the card. If not, someone at the point of purchase may be able to explain. Your well water may make it necessary to replace the flapper often but my experience has been that an inexpensive replacement lasts just as long as more expensive ones

It could be the type of flap you are using. I would suggest you try a different shaped flapper (a cone would work best) and if that doesn't do it, put a new kit into the unit, because it could be that the float system is sticking causing it to continue running.

When I flush the toilet, water fills the bowl. After about 30 minutes, the water drains from the bowl completely.

Attached to the Flushvalve is a rubber stopper commonly called a flapper. If the flapper is worn this would cause the problem. Also sometimes the chain that attaches the flapper to the handle gets caught and the flapper sdoes not seat right. Check this, if it is clear and not obstructed try repalcing the flapper.

Hi, American Standard uses a special large type of flapper that is designed for it. If I recall correctly,
It is black plastic with a device designed to delay the closing of the flap. It also has a special chain that is not like other flappers. Home Depot should stock these flappers. Fluidmaster makes a version of it that they sell.
Hope this helps,

Icemaker problems

Woody, This is one of the easier dispenser assy. to fix. The flapper is pretty simple, it clips on to the hinge assy. The hinge assy. has a spring that closes the flapper. There is a selenoid that pulls the flapper open. You can look up the parts on the net to see what they would cost. Flapper-12562701, hinge assy. 67004119, solenoid-12575401,spring 12565502. I don't know if you need all of them, Im not there to see. But if you have some time on your hands you could save a lot of money doing it yourself. Once fixed, you should be good for a long time.
