SOURCE: re: standby mode???

No really the standby mode dosent mean the sets fried or unrepairable. It just means that the sets in a shutdown mode till a power supply problem is corrected. They have shut down protection when the power supply dosent regulate the b+ and if it didnt shut down it would give off tons of X type radiation. thats just a safty on the set. seek a pro to assist you in repairing the set. Good Luck

If you have Hitachi model number 50UX58B, 60UX58B, 50UX58K, 60UX58K, 50SBX78B or 60SBX78B and you have the following symptoms you may want to grab a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit that includes the parts and instructions to fix these models. This is a fairly common problem with the above model numbers. It is typically caused by a blown capacitor and pico fuse. Again, you can get a kit from the above address.
Here are the symptoms...

Primary Symptom: No Audio or Video. Power light will come on briefly then shut off.
Other Possible Symptoms : The green LEDs on the circuit board light up for a few seconds then turn off.

Hope this helps,

My Hitachi 42 inch plasma TV is not staying on. Standby light is blinking please help

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

How do I disable Power save mode in Hitachi av3000e TV

I have read the user guide for this Plasma tv available free from here http://www.nodevice.com/download/user_manual/hitachi+42pd3000/132819.html
There is no mention of 'power save' mode whatsoever.
If you meant 'sleep mode' that is referred on page 30 of the manual.
Other than that, there doesn't appear much else you can change.

I have a sony bravia kdl40v2000 lcd tv stays in standby mode with green light on all the time, no picture no sound, suspect capasitor fault on power board, which capasitor need replacing

There are no paticulator capacitors components parts are dying and or leaking in sequences in any forms of numbers on the tv power supply board. It could be any numbers capacitors components anywhere in the tv power supply board could be dying and or leaking.U must have to take tv parts and examine the power supply board carefully for dying and or leaking capacitors components parts.Very easily to spots dying and or leaking capacitors components parts because 90-95% of the times they're alway puffing and or bulges up on to it tops it is looking like it about to be exploded out of it cylender container. If the tv every times u turn it on the tv power the tv LED power light indicator are alway stay on a good solid green color,LED power indicator light never blinks or flashes at all.Mean the tv does not have a tv power supply board problems, mean the tv it have a problems with it the main logic Tuner signal board problems, that is the board where the tv incomming broadcasting signal wire plug into it.Tries those websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish main logic Tuner signal board for the replacement.Because this main Logic Tuner signal board components are all in micro chips and are all in micro surfaces mounted on micro surfaces mounted on components parts by a circuits printed and put it on by machines.

The remote control will not operate the TV when the TV is in the OFF mode (No LED lit on front bezel). To change the mode from OFF to STANDBY or ON, press the POWER button on the side of the TV. Once the POWER button is pressed, the LED will change to either red to indicate STANDBY or green to indicate ON, whichever mode the TV was in prior to being turned off with the TV POWER button.

By pressing the POWER button on the side of the TV, the mode will toggle from OFF to either STANDBY or ON. If the POWER button is pressed and then the LED on the bezel is red, the TV is in STANDBY mode and will need to be turned on using the remote control. If the POWER button is pressed and then the LED on the bezel is green, the TV is ON.

T V Goes on to Green Light Yet Box Stays On Red

I have an AV3000E that developed this symptom following a 5 second power cut.
I downloaded the manul, suspecting a power supply problem. The way the AV3000E works is to have a 5 volt power supply running all the time, this powers the main processor. The main processor then energises a relay (S901) by applying 5V DC between relay pins 3 and 4. The relay contacts switch rectified mains power to the main switching regulator. The replay was being energised but appeared not to be switching. While the AV3000E was connected to the mains, I carefully I connected a short between relay contacts (1 and 2) while the processor was trying to energise the relay coil. The TV burst into life. I removed the short and the TV continued to operate normally and has done so ever since. I cannot entirely rationalise why this has worked as this should not have fixed the relay, what may have happened is that the short power cut may have resulted on the some corruption of the processor non-volatile memory, and that the incorrect operation of the main relay caused the processor to reset it's internal memory.
BE WARNED, WHAT I DID WAS EXTREEMLY DANGEROUS AS THE RELAY CONTACTS I SHORTED ARE CONNECTED TO THE MAINS SUPLY - YOU ARE LIKELY TO KILL YOURSELF IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING - PLUS I TOOK THIS ROUTE AFTER ELIMINATING THE OTHER OBVIOUS PROBLEMS LIKE FAILED FUSES.
