Question about Dayton Audio Dayton 4YG31 Horizontal Band Saw

Open Question

I have a 9x16 Dayton horizontal band saw. The problem that I am having is that when I go to saw off a large diameter piece (around 3-1/2 inches) the saw cuts at a large angle (guessing, it's around an 1/8 inch off). I'm wondering if the large pivot pin at the back could be worn? What could cause something like this to happen? Any assistance would be helpful.

If you are replacing the blade just use a tape measure around the two wheels. This will give you the measurement you need. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Saw motor runs fine. output shaft stops under load

I don't have any personal experience w/ band saw output shaft failure. This is kind of technical but I suggest you to check with a repair man or you may download a manual bandsawmanuals.com . They have free manual for Dayton 2LKU1 . Hope that helps.

What is the band saw blade length for a JWBS-20-1 Jet Band saw.

The 20 inch band saw uses a 150 inch blade and I'm envious. The 20 inches refers to the wheel diameter

I'd gladly trade.

Mt 18 inch horizontal band saw is not cutting square

Thicker metal shows greater blade / saw adjustment errors. A simple 1/64 or 1/32 wont show much on an 1/8 thick piece of metal when cut.
Those numbers will double quickly as the cutting blade travels through thick metal.
Metal band saws seem to be trickier to adjust and fine tune because the blade seems to be twisted into the roller guides.
The downloaded manual for the saw that looked most like mine at grizzly.com helped my adjustments a lot.
The saw quality is also a factor.
