Hi, I bought a 2 wire 1800 router/modem on ebay and have lost a lot of hair trying to set it up. I have downloaded drivers from the 2wire site as I didn't get a setup cd. I now have 3 green lights on the router but no joy with my connection. Whenever I try to go on line I get sent to a talk talk page which then asks me for my username and password even though I entered them during the setup. I then cannot enter the info on the talk talk page. I tried to see what was wrong but the error message I am getting tells me "unable to contact the configuration server" I have no idea what that means or how to get around it. Pease advise. Many thanks

Re: 2 wire 1800 router on talk talk
-- who is your internet service provider -- what is the operating system of your computer? -- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router
you may try this and see if this help solve your problem
Step 1: Shutdown the computer. Step 2: Unplug the router’s power cable. Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds. Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable. Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable. Step 6: Power on the computer on and test the Internet connection.
if this still didnot work, maybe you need to upgrade the firmware of your router

Flashing green means its trying to contact the modem. So, there is some problem with modem-router connection or with the modem.

The 2Wire 2700 is a residential gateway, a modem and router in-one. There is an RJ-11 jack in the back of the gateway and this is where your dsl phone cord plugs in. There are four RJ-45 jacks in the back for connecting devices using ethernet cable. As a router is can operate both wirelessly and wired. For wireless operation you'll need the WEP key which is located on the tag on the bottom of the gateway. It's the number enclosed in brackets, between the two bar codes.
