SOURCE: error 3802 how do i fix it?
You should take it back and exchange it or read on below.
Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.
Re-filling them will have no effect
If you are lucky you should be able to find either a chip resetter around on the internet or maybe even local
Even better empty cartridges that never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference
I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well

To fix this problem first you have to do a hard reset by pressing and holding the cancel and the left arrow while plugging in the power cord. This performs a partial reset which will give access to the country and region settings if they are available.
If that doesn't solve your problem uninstall and reinstall the driver. Its always possible that you may have an actual hardware/parts problem in the printer. To uninstall the driver first you should open your "Control Panel Utility", then open the "Add/Remove Programs", then under "Install/Uninstall", highlight and "Remove" any old printer drivers that may already be installed. Sometimes the same older drivers can be corrupted and conflict with newer drivers. I suggest downloading the latest version from HP website http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=20&product=57769&lang=en
Thank you !!
