You need to replace the 4 100uf capacitors on the DM board. You can get the service manual for your set at this link. They will email it to you after purchase and they will provide free instructions on how to do the repair with pictures plus free on line tech support . heres the link.

This sounds ridiculous but try holding a hair blow dryer to the back of the set. It needs to get warm inside the set. I will never by a Mitsubishi again! My tv is years old and should not have problems! This solution will work until you fix it or buy a new tv!

Mitsubishi tv keeps turning off.

Hello there please check the following in your tv;

Reset the component settings. Most problems with Mitsubishi projection televisions can be resolved by resetting the television to factory settings

If this does not work then a full system reset should be performed on the control panel by pressing the System Reset button. The television will turn off and the green LED light will flash quickly for a minute. When the light stops flashing, the TV will turn on.

If that still doesn't work, then the projection lamp might need replacing and here is how to do that;

Ensure that the bulb is completely cooled and the television is unplugged. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the lamp compartment cover. Unscrew the lamp cartridge on the rear of the television. As opposed to the cover door, these screws do not actually come out of their chamber and simply loosen the lamp assembly. Remove the old cartridge and insert the new one. Secure the lamp with screws, then replace the cover and screw in tightly.

Please note that, Finger oils can cause the lamp to malfunction.

Projection lamps are powered by mercury. Wash hands thoroughly after replacing the projection bulb.

The DM modul is bad. Replace all 1000mF/16V capacitors( be careful with the polarity). After replacing capacitors conect to AC power. Waith about 1min. Green flashing will stop. Turn ON tv. The modul is on the raight hand side next to the main board.

Mitsubishi ws-48613 no power

It seems problem of weak capacitors in power supply and deflection board.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good soldering skills, then check above said boards for weak capacitors.
You also need to have service manual of WS48613 which can be obtained from Manual Zone.
Service manual has schematics and technical information of TV to help in repair.

Power problem

Most likely the convergence ICs are bad. These aare large black ICs attached to a heatsink. They will be marked STK393-110 and have about 15 pins or so. Replace these and check the fuses marked F9A01- F9A06 on the same board. Replace any open fuses after the IC replacement and report your results here.
