If this just happened today the 12th - let it dry out for 4 days - you can try it anytime before that - but even if the phone comes on and works I would let it dry for 4 days. Get insurance right away too. Some phones once wet - have a tag inside the phone that alerts the company it has been wet. Some company's sell insurance that will cover lost or stolen phones but not damaged by water so be cautious when dealing with this problem.
The phone should be opened and let dry for several days before you try to open it. The battery should also be replaced to avoid further accidents. Take care.
it may sound funny but put the phone, battery and nething else that got in a bag of dry rice. it will soak up any water left in the phone. that may fix your problem.
Try removing the battery, using a blow dryer to air everything out in battery compartment. If there are any tiny screws or way to open up the phone itself, open it up, and blow everything inside there too.
Let it dry out completely and then see if it will work again. My guess is no, because once the circuits get wet, they are pretty much damaged and irrepairable.
I'm sorry to say it is probably to late, even a little wet is still more than it should be. You should have removed the battery first thing, then let everything dry completely.
If even the least bit of water found it's way inside, and you were still using it(even just powered on), your cell could short out or cause hardware damage.
You can try taking the battery out, and placing the phone and battery inside a bowl with some rice..close it up...wait at least a full day to pull out any water that may be inside. May be to late for that to work tho.
Sorry to hear about your luck, thank you for trying Fixya!
My best guess is that you touched that area with wet hands and little water got inside and corroded the circuits. Regardless, the phone needs to be opened and cleaned on those buttons and on the contacts
Hey. I am having the same problem. I took my phone down to my verizon store. they took the back off my phone and said it had been wet and that is why the camera won't work. they tried updating the software (which it free) to see it that would fix it and that didnt work...
I dont believe that is the problem but I cant figure out how to fix it...
you can tell your phone has been wet by taking the back off and looking at the little square beside the flash. White= wet. Black or checkered print= it has not been wet before.
H2o, on the phone. It may still be saved. the only thing is that you may not have the tools to open the phone. the tools needed are a T-5 and T-6 for most V3. my best idea is to try to softly scrape the Sim Card reader Prongs/contacts. but please if you have never open a v3 don't try it. just take to your local service provider or to one of those guys with a accessories stand selling the face plate replacement @ the mall. they may not charge you anything .and cross your fingers so the micro resistors inside the phone did not fried, this happens if the phone was ON when it got water in it.
Hope this helps
Thanks
