Question about Dell (E210882) Motherboard
I PURCHASED A DELL DIMENSION 4600 AROUND 1993-1995 ( E210882 motherboard ). SINCE THEN I ATTEMPTED TO UPGRADE THE RAM MEMORY TO 4-GIGABYTES USING FOUR STIX OF 1GB RAM (KINGSTON-TECHNOLOGY KVR KVR-400/ 1GR )( 74061708954 2.6V )( B EPE16B0764 ) (P850085-01253530 ).
WHENEVER I START UP THE COMPUTER STILL MOVES VERY SLOWLY AND SO I TRIED DEFRAGGING WHICH DIDN'T HELP. THEN I TRIED POWERING DOWN COMPUTER, RESTARTING AND PRESSING F2 KEY TO CHECK MY SYSTEMS CONFIGURATION AND FIND ITS RUNNING ONLY 4096MB DDR SDRAM INSTALLED MEMORY, RUNNING 333MHZ SYSTEM MEMORY SPEED, DUAL SYSTEM CHANNEL MEMORY MODE, 256MB RAM AGP APERATURE.
MY CPU SPEED COMPATIBLE, BUS SPEED 533MHZ, PROCESSOR 0 ID F29, CLOCK SEED 2.66GHZ, CACHE SIZE 512KB.
INTEL PENTIUM 4 PROCESSOR: 2.66GHZ LEVEL 2 CACHE: 512 KB INTEGRATED
BIOS VERSION: A03 SERVICE TAG: 36Q4B31

I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD HELP TO SOLVE MY PROBLEMS WITH MY SYSTEM. (404) 840-8387
It seems like you have done everything right but im not 100% sure that your memory is correct. read through the description here carefully and you will see that this memory comes in two different packages. One of them is the 400 (the ones you bought) and another in the 333 flavor. I am hoping they did not make a mistake and gave you the wrong ones. Look directly at the memory and make sure. I am also including the system manual for your computer. Hope this helps.
Kingston's ValueRAM KVR400/1GR is a 128M x 64-bit (1GB) DDR400 CL3 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory module. The components on the module include sixteen 64M x 8-bit (16M x 8-bit x 4 Bank) DDR333 SDRAM in TSOP packages. This 184-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +2.6V. The product is shipped in retail packaging and includes installation instructions.
