Question about HP Compaq Presario F500 F700 and G6000 Motherboard - 442875-001
This could be a power supply fault, check the volts on the red, yellow and earth lead(black)THE RED LEAD =5VOLTS
Diconnect the pc mains plug from the computer.
Disconnect the power supply leads from the motherboard, and switch on and check the volts on all leads of all those I mentioned. If these are present when they are not connected to the main board, then the problem is with the motherborad, most likely the bios chip is faulty. This chip kicks starts the PC into coming on.Failing this send the PC back to where you bought it and let them fix it.
IT COULD ALSO BE THE MAIN ON OFF SWITCH AND THE CABLE ITSELF FAILING.CHECK THIS WITH AN OHM METER ON X1 OF THE RESISTANCE SCALE.DISCONNECT THE MAINS PLUG FIRST.

Try blowing out the vents on the bottom with a powerful compressor, especially the one on the back and make sure the computer is on a solid table and the rubber pads on the bottom are still attached.
