This most likly is the thermostat itself. Lately I have sen this same problem in many combi ovens hence they use the same t/stat. If you could when this problem occurs take a voltage reading on each side of the t/stat and see if voltage is present on each side if it is not present on each side then the t/stat is your problem.

Hope this helps you

Fryer heats up but does not maintain proper temp. last year replaced hi limit reset & today replaced thermostat

Hi there.
You may need to calibrate the new thermostat and in doing so, you will need a calibrated thermometer with sensor dipped in oil at about one (1) inch above the fryer thermostat sensing bulb.
Record the cut-off temp (when indicator light goes off) and compare it with the thermostat setting.
The thermostat has a calibration screw ( - ) recessed in the middle of the shaft, you will see the when you pull off the thermostat knob. this calibration screw can be turned by a precision screw driver, turn clockwise to decrease the cut-off temperature ; turn counterclockwise to increase the cut-off temperature.
Just make sure that the unit is preheated or have cycled at least 5 to 8 times and the oil is new before performing the calibration.
Regards.

Fryer overflows often, turned thermostat down from 350 to approx 340 but food does not cook then. could the thermostat be bad? 10 degrees should not make that much difference.

Does the fryer have a" temperature reached light"? If so switch the fryer on and with the thermostat dial starting at its lowest setting increase the temperature setting in small increments. When the light indicates temperature reached, increase the thermostat dial temperature. Continue until maximum temperature reached.

If (starting from cold) the temerature reached light only shows when high up on the thermostats temperature scale, then unfortunately the thermostat needs replacing.

Hope this helps.

1999 buick century..my temperature guage sometime goes in the red and then back 2 normal...once it does that it takes my car awhile 2 heat up

Hello! Replace the thermostat, it is defective...I would suggest flushing the cooling system with the heat set to high...Your engine requires Dex-Cool anti-freeze...It, due to electrolysis, has a tendency to "clump" blocking proper flow...Drain the cooling system...Fill with plain water...Allow engine to heat up and when the thermostat opens shut down and drain...Do this three times or until water is clear...Replace thermostat and refill with Dex-Cool...Allow all air to escape before installing cap...

Hi. I am just wanting to control the heat the manual way. I had someone come in to service my furnace and they set it for the week. How do I cancel that, and just have it so I can turn it up when I want,...

From the Operating Manual: _______________Manual Operation for Non-Programmable Thermostats Press the SYSTEM button to select Heat or Cool and use the [Up] or [Down] buttons to adjust the temperature to your desired setting. After selecting your desired settings you can also press the SYSTEM button to select AUTO to allow the thermostat to automatically change between Heat and Cool. _______________________Manual Operation (Bypassing the Program) Programmable Thermostats Press the [Up] or [Down] buttons and adjust the temperature wherever you like. Then press HOLD. This will override the program. The HOLD feature bypasses the program and allows you to adjust the temperature manually, as needed. Whatever temperature you set in HOLD will be maintained 24 hours a day, until you manually change the temperature or press RUN to cancel HOLD and resume the programmed schedule. ____________________________________________________ *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. Hi there.
Thermopile must be free of soot or any form of dirt so that it coud absorb the right intensity of heat from the pilot flame for millivolt generation used in energizing the pilot and main valve electrical coils for pilot and burner operation. Pilot flame must be stable during fryer operation as well as the gas pressure being supplied to the unit.
All wiring connection must be tight, a very small amount of voltage generated by the thermopile or millivolts will not pass thru loosely connected wires.

I have a frymaster gf14sd and when turned on for about 20 minutes the fryer turns off and pilot light goes out and will not restart til it cools down .

First you will need to determine what the oil temperature actually is when the fryer shuts down. The reason for the shutdown is likely the hi-limit thermostat is tripping. That could be the result of the hi-limit thermostat being faulty or the thermostat is faulty and the oil is actually too hot eg: 450F. Once this is determined, either the thermostat or the hi-limit will need to be changed. The part number for the thermostat is 807-1692 and the hi-limit is 826-1177. I know this post is late, hopefully it will help someone.

My fryer will not heat up consistently. If i press the reset button, it heats up. But after heating up to a certain temp it shuts down and stops heating. There is power to the unit, it seems like a problem...

It probably is a problem with the thermostat. The reset button is probably a high limit. The high limit is a safety device to turn the fryer off if the oil gets too hot. Normally they will "trip" somewhere between 375 - 450 degrees F for commercial fryers. I would suggest placing a temperature probe in the oil and see what the oil temp is when it trips. If it trips at a temp below 375, it is a bad high limit. If the thermostat is set at 350 and the temp goes over 400 then the thermostat is bad.

Programmable Thermostat Model 43157

On my Hunter model, there is a "Span" setting that allows you to change how long the AC/Heat will run before it turns off. Basically, it sets the acceptable range (above and below) your temperature setting. To access this press both the up and down arrows and hold them. "Span" should show up with a number (1,2, or 3). For your problem, change the setting to 1 so the AC will run shorter, and more frequently to keep the temperature more constant.
