If you replaced the DVD-ROM drive yourself, some newer Xboxes do not recognize and/or function properly with older drives. I tried replacing a drive in an older Xbox with an older yet DVD-ROM drive, and it would not work. When replacing a DVD-ROM in an Xbox, it is advisable to use the same model drive, as the Xbox does strange things when you introduce different hardware. The url of a page is below that details the different drives that Xboxes use. See if your new drive is the same as the old one, and if not, that is almost certainly the issue.

The motherboard and the firmware for the DVD drive are paired. You cannot simply replace the drive with another. In order to properly replace the drive you must have the KEY from your old drive's firmware to input into your new drive so the games can be de-coded and signed software work properly.
There are tutorials and hardware available on the internet to do this.
Most of the time a replaced DVD drive will not work properly in an xbox 360 unit. The drives are coded / locked to each individual console. Unless you flashed the new drive to match the old drive (cloning it) then it will not work. I would not recommend trying to clone the drive unless you are extremely technical and familiar with how to do it.
Why you replaced the dvd drive i do not know, The problem is if you have installed a non microsoft xbox dvd driver it will not work! If your original dvd driver is broken as to why you have replaced it, contact microsoft or your local games shop for another xbox 360 or drive. You can also by a addon driver, you can see it here
you need to get the firmware from your original drive. Each xbox drive has a unique number in the firmware that marries the drive to the console. so dump your firmware from original drive and flash it to the new drive
