Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

There's a "language" menu that is on the screen every time I turn the tv on. I've bought 2 universal remotes to try and select the "ok" or "enter" option, but nothing seems to be working. Also none of the buttons that are on the physical tv are working either, except the power button

The control processor on your tv has been locked and the entire control board must be either reflashed (some newer tv's allow that so you can fix it) or replaced. Since you didn't provide the exact model of the tv i can't point you to a site from where you could buy a replacement board.
But putting a new board is still quite a complicated job. If you aren't sure you can do it without damaging the rest of the tv then you must take your tv to a repair shop, it will be a lot cheaper than calling one home.

Ok. Thanks. It's model no.MD14H63. Is there something I can do, or do I need the repair shop?

I did a search thru all my bookmarked parts sites and i couldn't find a replacement board for your tv. Because of that i think you should take it to a repair shop, they can order a new one thru their business connections. But beware - the entire job will cost you around $125, it might just be cheaper to get a new tv from a sale.
