How do I remove hose from end that goes into vacuum cleaner?

if it is a convulated hose then it is screwed in to the fitting as if it is a left hand thread
the end section in the fitting is normally glued in to the fitting as well, so you will have to use a small flat bladed screw driver and pass it along side of the hose to break the glue
whenyou have the hose out cut off the bad bit or fit the new hose in after you put a small bit of contact cement in the thread of the fitting

How can I extend the hose so I don't have to bend so far down when I vacuum. I am tall

You could try wearing the cleaner like a backpack...

I live in a small town and there are at least two businesses here where I could buy vacuum cleaner hose by the metre.
I have also seen purpose-made 1 metre hose extensions.

It isn't always easy but I have repaired and replaced hoses, changed ends and generally managed to use surplus and discarded hoses rather than buy new.

I suggest you approach the sort of business that supplies vacuum cleaners and washers and suchlike to other businesses rather than a high street type shop.

Good luck!

How do I change the fuel valve on 2003 road king

Turn the handle of the fuel valve to OFF, THEN using a side cutters, cut clamp and remove hose from fuel outlet fitting at the front of the fuel valve and drain the free end of hose into a suitable container, THEN remove the elbow of the intake manifold vacuum tube from its fitting on the inboard side of the fuel valve, attach a length of fuel hose long enough to reach a suitable gasoline container to the fuel outlet fitting, turn the handle of the fuel valve to RES(ERVE), THEN using the correct hose adapter, connect the Mity-Vac® Hand Pump (HD-23738A) or similar to the vacuum fitting (To avoid damage to the diaphragm of the fuel valve, do not apply a vacuum greater than 25 inches of Mercury(Hg) to the vacuum fitting.), gently apply a vacuum of 1-10 inches of Mercury (Hg) to the vacuum fitting to get a good flow of gasoline through the valve, when the fuel tank is completely empty remove the vacuum pump from the vacuum fitting, THEN holding the fuel tank adapter, turn the hex jam nut in a clockwise direction to remove the fuel valve assembly, remove the fuel filter strainer from the valve head, remove the hex jam nut from the fuel valve and remove and discard the gasket from the valve head.

FUEL VALVE Installation

Attach the fuel supply valve assembly to the tank by threading the hex fitting on the right hand threads of the fuel tank two turns (the collar on the hex fitting faces the fuel tank), holding the hex fitting and thread body of the fuel supply valve assembly into the left hand threads of the hex fitting two turns, hold the fuel supply valve assembly so that the handle points to the left, straight away from the motorcycle, tighten the hex fitting (clockwise) to 15-20 ft-lbs (20.3-27.1 Nm), connect the fuel hose to the outlet nipple on the fuel supply valve assembly using a new clamp and HOSE CLAMP PLIERS, connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum nipple and the fill tank with gasoline, check for leaks at the fitting, turn the fuel supply valve handle ON and start the engine. No special procedures are required to start the fuel flow, carefully inspect for leaks and then turn the fuel supply valve OFF and shut off the engine after the inspection is complete.

I have a Dyson Animal vacuum. My wife removed the handle to use some of the attachments for cleaning. When placing the handle back to the vacuum, she attached the top part of the handle back to the...

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. From what you've described, it sounds as if the wand has been replaced on the cleaner without the hose being retracted. To remove the wand from the machine, hold the cleaner securely in place by placing one foot on the cleaner head, then pull the wand up forcefully whilst holding the purple quick-draw hose release (located above the on/off switch) down. Make sure you are not leaning over the top of the wand as you do this.

Once you've freed the wand from the cleaner, make sure you retract the wand before replacing it on the cleaner again. Hold down the hose release button on the hose cuff as you retract the wand inside the hose.

You might find it useful to refer to the user guide supplied with the cleaner - in case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

Plenty of suction from the hose pipe itself but no suction when vacuuming the carpet

Hello Can,

Go through this guide to help find the issue www.builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html. You should have suction without a filter. The bottom is on the unit, right? It needs to be air tight.

I NEED A TELESCOPIC HOSE FOR MY PHILIPS EXPRESSION HOOVER, WHERE CAN I GET THIS MY HOSE PIPE IS BROKEN AND I HAVE TRIED TO GET A NEW ONE AT VARIOUS SHOPS HERE IN IRELAND AND I CANT.

Hi - greetings from Scotland! Im not sure if you mean telescopic hose = do you mean telescopic metal tubes? If so they are readily available on ebay.co.uk I buy from many sellers on there but Hoovermania are one of the best.
What you need to do before order is to measure one of the smaller cleaning tools at the opening with a ruler where you'd usually put the hose. If you haven't got one to hand measure the end part of the plastic handle where the hose is where you'd usually attach the pipes. Generally if it measures 3.5 cm this works out to be a 32mm fitting tube which is readily available on Ebay and from different sellers. If however it is more then it has a 35mm fitting.
If its bigger than that, then you'd need 35mm tubes of which some are still available on EBay. In any case, you can look at different manufactures because when it comes to telescopic metal tubes the 32mm fittings will fit any vacuum cleaner that can accomodate these sizes. Therefore shop around; Hoovermania have a few on offer and you can phone / email them if you are not sure.

Replace vacuum hose
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You should contact the place where you purchased your vacuum, or if it is a big box store, you would need to supply us with the brand name, model # and the serial # for the vacuum and then you can contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the vacuum cleaner factory phone #, you can use the Google search site to locate the factory or manufacturer or re-send a message thru FixYa with the info and we will try to get you the information you needs to purchase a new hose.

Power head hose to fit power nozzle PN-4. Electrolux MDL 1401B

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I would advise because this is an older Electrolux Power Nozzle PN-4
Model #1401B that you could buy a replacement hose of which would save you money or you can spend the price for a genuine hose – replacement hoes work just fine and are less money.
