Pull the plastic screw on each side of the drawer with a nose plier. This will loosen the front cover and allow you to lift the top plate along with the handle. Replace the handle and put back the front plate and the front cover. Finally put the 2 screws back.

Model w10311121b no power

Hi Scott. It appears you have the same dishwasher as mine bought in 2010- it worked sporadically for several years. I bought one year warranty ($289) in Feb2014 . Over 2 months, service technicians replaced 3 parts (user control board, motor control board and water sensor) hoping that each would fix it. They told me to run hot water before starting a wash cycle. Dish washing cycle failures were still sporadic and it finally lost all power in May2014. Service techs would not come out so I confirmed house power supply with a multimeter and then took the door apart to access the latch. I determined the latch kill circuit was not assembled properly and it had carbon buildup which I scraped off.

If your warranty has ended and you attempt this, do not use a power screw driver with these Torx screws as you can easily strip the threads or damage the plastic user control housing by screwing in too far on the top screws. (especially if you forget to reinstall the internal handle which acts as a spacer).

To disassemble: Remove the top 4 screws and top side screws, loosen the middle and lower side screws as needed. Separate the washer door face wide enough to remove the user control board, let it hang by the cord. The handle will be loose in the way, remove it. The latch has a white plastic kill circuit which is held to the latch with tabs. Unplug the circuit and carefully remove it. The circuit comprises 2 flat metal sheets that are pushed together by the latch lever when the door is shut. These plates separate when the door is open to kill washer power. The latch lever should be under both circuit plates with the shorter plate on the bottom. (long plate, short plate, lever, white housing). Reassemble, remember to include the handle My dishwasher operates properly now.

Maytag dishwasher won't start but other buttons work

It's probably your Circuit Board (CB)! My dishwasher is on the second CB and it keeps blowing the dispenser transistor. This needs to be brought up to the MAYTAG goons to see if they will start recalling this crappy thing. My machine is barely a year old and will have it's third CB!

No power to control panel

Hello

Reset the panel. Shut off power to the dishwasher, and then turn it back on. This may cause the panel to reset, which may fix certain electrical problems.

Check availability of the control panel part. Find your panel's part number in the user manual or online. Some panels for older models are no longer available. If you are sure the panel is at fault, order your replacement part.

Turn off the power before working on the panel. You can unplug the dishwasher or turn off the circuit breaker for it. Confirm that the power is off before continuing.

Follow your manual to remove the old panel. Note the settings, jumpers and wiring of the old panel before removing it. Take a picture with a digital camera to help your memory.

Find your dishwasher's tech sheet. A tech sheet is usually included inside your dishwasher. You must remove the face plate and reach up inside the dishwasher to find it. This sheet has technical information from the manufacturer for your dishwasher.

Follow your manual to install the new panel. Try not to generate a static charge around sensitive electronic equipment, or the new panel may be damaged. Check the old panel to confirm any jumpers or settings.

Restore the power to the dishwasher. Run through the test sequence for your panel, if applicable. The instructions will be on the tech sheet. Load the dishwasher and do a test load of dishes.

When I load papers into the document feeder on top of my HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One printer to scan these documents, the PDF file (scan results) have a multi-color series of lines from top-to-bottom on...

  1. Remove all originals from the document feeder tray.
NOTE: It might be easier to work with the automatic document feeder if the document feeder tray is removed first.
  2. Lift the cover of the automatic document feeder. Figure 1: Lifting the ADF coverc00222493.gif
  3. Lift the lid on the HP all-in-one, and locate the notch near the top right edge of the lid backing. Figure 2: Locating the notch near the lid backingc00222494.gif 1 - Notch 2 - Lid backing
  4. Place one or two fingers in the notch, as you lower the lid of the HP all-in-one. Keep your fingers in the notch until the lid is almost closed. Figure 3: Inserting fingers into the notchc00222495.gif
  5. Push against the top of the face plate with your thumb as you pull the bottom away from the right side of the HP all-in-one with your fingers. Use a slight twisting motion to help release the face plate on the right side.
CAUTION: Do not pull the face plate all the way off yet. There is a plastic catch on the far left inside of the face plate that helps secure the face plate in place. If the face plate is pulled straight off, the plastic catch on the inside of the face plate might be damaged. Figure 4: Releasing the face plate from the right side of the HP all-in-onec00222496.gif 1 - Releasing the right side with a slight twisting motion
  6. Slide the face plate to the left until the plastic catch on the left side is not touching any part of the HP all-in-one, then pull the face plate away from the device. 2. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with distilled water, then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.
  3. Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off of the rollers or the separator pad.
  4. If the residue does not come off using distilled water, try using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.
  5. Use the blue-green handle to lower the pick assembly.
Reattaching the face plate of the ADF Follow the steps below to reattach the face plate to the front of the automatic document feeder.
  1. Hook the face plate onto the left side of the HP all-in-one so that the plastic catch on the far left inside of the face plate catches on the notch on the front of the automatic document feeder. The handle opener on my my Kitchenaid whisperquiet dishwasher is completely loose and I can't open the dishwasher to remove my clean dishes. What can I do???

The idea is to lift up on the part of the latch that is fixed to the body of the washer. The door part of the latch slides under this peice. If the handle mechanism is broken, it will not depres the door part of the latch to allow it to open. therefore, we have to pickup the latch part fixed to the body.

To get the door open, take a clothes hanger and cut off a 12" peice with a pair of pliers. Bend the last 1.25" at 90 degress angle. Make another bend about 4 " from that to make another 90 degree angle. This will give you leverage. Insert the first bent end between the top of the door and the counter. Rotate it so that the end is facing down. Feel for a metal plate. When you hit the plate with the probe, turn your hanger so that it lifts up the plate and simultaneously pull on the door handle. The door should come open.

Now you have to get the handle repaired, but at least you know how to open the door.

I have an 11 year old, single handle shower control that when turned off has dripping. I have taken off the handle, etc and am at the wall. What is the next step or steps?

After you remove the chrome collar and plastic collar washer (behind the faucet handle), pry the beauty plate off the wall. Turn off the house main water supply. Remove the four screws and washer holding the cartridge and valve stem in place. Save the metal washer under the four screws for use with the new cartridge. Replace the stem/cartridge assembly and secure with the saved metal washer and four screws. Reinstall beauty plate, collar & collar washer, then handle.

My xdm6820 has no display showing. What do you sugest? Any ideas? It works fine but can not see clock or radio station. No display at all!!

There are two 3mm white LEDs inside the face-plate that need to be replaced. Remove the face-plate and turn it over. Remove the 4 screws in the corners. Un-snap the plastic back off the face-plate. This exposes the back of the printed circuit board. Pull the volume knob off the front of the face-plate. You may need to use a small screw driver to gently pry it up. Flip the face-plate back over and remove the one screw that's holding the printed circuit board in. Separate the printed circuit from the front of the face-plate. Be careful to not lose the spring for the push pin. Flip the printed circuit board over and you'll see a raised metal box surrounding the display. The one end of this metal box is covered in black tape. Remove this tape to revel a small cavity in the side of the metal box with two 3mm white LED in it. These are the 2 LEDs that need to be replaced. This cavity is so small there's not much working room. Note that the positive terminal for each of these LED is on the left and the negative terminal is on the right. Rather than un-soldering the old LEDs I found it easier to use a small pair of diagonal cutters to just cut their leads and then pull them out of the cavity. Leave enough of the old leads sticking up to solder the new LEDs to. Trim the leads of the new LEDs to the proper length, slide them into the cavity one at a time and solder their leads to the stubs of the old leads. Make sure you get the polarity correct. Put everything back together and you should be good to go. I hope this helps you out.

Leaking hot water from delta single handle facuet

I have to assume you've unscrewed the face plate, not removed it, because you can't do that without taking the handle off. Delta handle usually come off by unscrewing an allen (set) screw just under the handle itself. Sometimes these are covered by a plastic plug.

Occasionally, even after you've completely removed the set screw, the handle still won't come off. Wiggling and pulling for a few minutes will generally get it off. If not, then a hacksaw, new handle and new cartridge are the answer.

If the allen screw is stripped and that's why it won't ome off, see above.

Good Luck.

Moen single handle shower faucet, contstanly drips

Moen single handle - push pull has a screw beneath the handle cover plate. The Moen single lever handle has an allen wrench screw located under the curve of the handle. Once either one of these screws are removed, the handle should come off easily.
Once the handle is off, the water must be turned off and then you can remove the cartridge. Some cartridges are difficult to remove and may require a special tool. Most new cartridge packages have information on them to explain how to remove the cartridge.
