SOURCE: Using m audio axiom25 midi with RolandRD700NX

Hi you'r NOT stupid, it's just that Roland doesn't like people mixing stuff up, they want you to use their gear only, accordingly, you must dump the Axiom, MIDI and get a Roland one... You really need to keep it all one brand as it were then there will be NO problems at all... Not all MIDI are created equal, as it were, and using the Roland one will allow full functionality to be provided by the input unit. This unit is more the more modern one of the RD700 series, and the older, RD700 wan't all that fussy about the interconnections but your new one is. In any event I do know that sticking within the same brand name always sorts things out for whatever reason?

MD-1700 keyboard. How do I connect it via the USB port on the computer?

MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a standard data transfer system used exclusively for instrumentation. A side from amps 7 recording equipment many PCs, laptop & TVs have MIDI access built into them. If they can interface with a UBS connection it is more likely the exception rather than the standard. Below is a link to the users manual for your keyboard. Start reading on page 39.

I am using CTK-810 Casio. I want to use it for MIDI on my Laptop. What are the various ways , I can do that? Do I need any addition drivers and Physical cables..? Will I be able to use MIDI for CTK-810?

You need a MIDI to USB cable. I use the M-Audio Uno. I would recommend this--very reliable. Check it out here's the link: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Uno.html
This will allow you to send and receive MIDI between your laptop and Casio Keyboard.

I have a CTK-496. I bought the usb to connect from the keyboard to the computer. When I have it activated on Fl Studio, but I press the keys, nothing plays but the regular keyboard. Its like the keyboard...

You have to install the MIDI type software in the PC to trigger the sound card's voices. You may also need a driver for the keyboard. Search the Casio site for downloads pertaining to your keyboard.

Can I use it as controller for Fruity Loops? How? Thanks. The model that I have is Casio CTK 496.

You can use this keyboard via MIDI to send note on/off information to FriutyLoops. Use for control functions will be somewhat limited to voice change, velocity, and aftertouch.

Fruity loops old version with casio keyboard

You haven't said whether or not you are using a demo ,version of FL. If you purchased they have Lifetime Free Updates here:http://flstudio.image-line.com/documents/lifetimefreeupdates.html If you didn't purchase, try downloading the newest demo version here:http://flstudio.image-line.com/documents/download.html Some features of demo programs become disabled after a certain time period. I don't know if midi device recognition is one of them for this program. Try hooking your keyboard up first, making sure that you have the correct drivers for the keyboard, your USB adapter etc. Then start FL and see if the program lists your keyboard in the midi device list.

Casio ctk 700 Fl studio 8 connectivity

Fruity Loops version 4 requires Windows up to version XP.

If you happen to have Vista on your PC, you should probably retrofit to XP as there are MANY compatibility problems with Vista and a lot of the special purpose software.

First thing is to COMPARE the PC requirements against what Fruity Loops says it requires.

Connect usbtocomputer

Hello - I am too a personal owner of a CASIO CTK keyboard, a little older than yours (model CTK-601) a great keyboard BTW, and I have connected it to my computer successfuly.

There are 2 ways of connecting the keyboard to your PC......Using the MIDI outputs and a special MIDI to gameport adapter - if you have a very old system and have a joystick port (D-sub shape) on your soundcard or PC, then you use that cable. Of course this is legacy and stopped existing in newer computers, now USB is used.

Only the professional line of soundcards have direct MIDI inputs. For most of us, with consumer soundcards and PCs, there are no MIDI inputs.

The good news is that newer keyboards support USB MIDI and features direct USB connection - so all you have to do is install the drivers that are provided with your keyboard, usually a CD, and follow the instruction to install the USB drivers for your casio keyboard, BEFORE you plug in the cable (very important!) once installed you reboot and connect your keyboard using a USB cable

Now if your keyboard is older and has MIDI outputs, like mine for example, you will need to purchase a MIDI to USB adapter, those have MIDI cables in one end that plug to your keyboard and the other end a USB connector....... I don't know about the rules if I am allowed to post websites, but the product i'm using is the Uno from M-Audio - in google do this search:

"m-audio"uno

(exactly as shown above with quotes, and uno outside quotes)

Your CTK-810 may alreayd have a USB connector on it, as it is a newer generation keyboard - I am pretty sure it does - what you will have to do as stated above is located your bundled CD-ROM and install the USB drivers - you will need to purchase a USB cable (seperately).

My casio 496 cannot connect to fruity loops

Unfortunately your model of Casio only has midi in and not midi out. You will be able to use it as an external sound module but not to input notes into Fruity Loops. In other words midi out of your computer to midi in of the Casio with the proper settings will play your Fruity Loops sequences through the Casio.

Casio Ctk-720 windows vista compatability issues

Hi there. Get yourself a copy of Fruity Loops. In the MIDI settings, enable CASIO USB IN as the input and set the controller type to (generic controller). After that, make sure GM Mode is turned on on the Casio's interface and Local is turned off. If you've already installed the Casio's drivers from the included CD, you should be able to use the Casio as a MIDI controller in Fruity Loops, wherein you can do pretty much anything.
