The blog is about a lens error, but when the camera lens opens and closes, there is often a problem with the lens assembly.
Also make sure the contacts are clean on the battery, and also inside the camera.
If all fails to get it working again, get an estimate on repair first, since the cost can justify just going ahead and buying a new camera.
