reason i ask is cause some cd formats and songs come with the distortion on them the manufacture does not see this cause mass production in cd's
turn onto a receiver fm tuner if static is still there power failure is common in the power house inside receiver these require maintenance and probably new power house conductor

If you are copying a cd and trying to play music at the same time, you are pushing the processor power of your laptop or low on memory.
When copying a cd it should rip it without sound to your hardrive, so i assume that your are playing music from your hardrive as well as ripping and this model of laptop i think comes standard with a 1.3ghz processor with 512mb of memory, which can easily be drained when ripping or burning.
