Question about D-Link Wireless

D-Link When I install D-Link from the disc, it knocks me off the internet and does not install. It says retry, and then it does not work.

You can just manually install it without running the setup and also by downloading teh software from Dlink web site....

You will have to open up your network connections

Click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ?
you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled.

Make sure your antivirus program is not blocking the internet connection.

If you are trying to connect through a modem/router you it should have come with a disk then
you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question ? exclamation mark ! or a red X right click install drivers.

The driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider
or the motherboard disc

You only need to check the BIOS if you cant install the driver

Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to

press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys navigate to integrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its
"Enabled"

I'm having problem conecting to the internet,in the device manager is not showing my wireless adapter.


Prior to using your wireless adapter you need to install the software and driver for your device to work properly...use the supplied disc that came with your wireless adapter...if you can't find it try clicking this link and you have to choose the correct version then download driver/software..

you may need to check the access point rang/availability. otherwise change your wireless adaptor. re-installtion of windows also solve your problem.

First thing are all the micro-filters installed and in the correct direction? If they are then it sounds like your DSL signal is borderline and when the phone rings it is getting knocked out. If that is the case you will need a tech to come out and test the line.

Try to reset your router, just press reset button for at least 1 minute (look for small button in your router if there is no reset title) reseting will restore the manufaturer router settings.
