thanks for getting back to me.

I tried cleaning the lens contacts and the camera contacts and I'm still getting the same problem. should I use something in particular to clean the contacts?

I'm going on vacation in about three weeks and don't want to miss on my pictures.

I tried both of my lenses on my Nikon D40 and both work perfectly with that body. I hope the camera did not go on me,because I love that camera.

tried cleaning the contacts, pressing the tab and it springs back.

I notice that when shooting on my D40 with both lenses it will not auto focus the lens. I have to focus manually.

You think the problem should be the lens instead of the camera.

on the D40 the camera shoots but will not AF.

on the D70 the camera just wont shoot. the F-- and the word clock blink for a few seconds every time I press the shutter button but will not shoot.

The r10 is exactly what you mention, number of pictures available in the buffer for your resolution setting.

The F-- indicates that the camera is not reading the lens properly. You may have dirty contacts on either the lens and/or the camera.

Try un-mounting the lens and remount it or try another lens.

Another possibly is the f/min switch. The tab for it sticks out from the edge of the mount @ about 7 o'clock. See if it springs back when you push it with your finger

Wavetek 9100 i need 10 ohm 22w and 10 ohm 21w

interesting - you can troubleshoot Fluke calibrator but cannot source 2 resistors

First you label both resistors as R10 (is this a designator or actual value on the resistor - btw if this is a value written on resistor then R10 is 0.1 Ohm which would show as short and would explain high wattage also) and probably there is nothing wrong with them.

Need more info or pictures of what you thing are faulty resistors.

Also you can find Service manual here which would help in identifying components:

Nikon d50 wont take pictures and displays r10 warning

R10 is not a error code, it tells you how many pictures (on average) the camera can shoot before it has to stop and clear its internal memory by writing to the SD card.

Is there a card in the camera? It will not fire without one. Also, if you have taken 20 or 30 thousand exposures, then the electronic switch (not the button on the top) that fires the camera may be worn out.

How do i use the burst mode on my nikon d3000? Thank you.

Press the Info button to bring up the Information display. Press the <i> button to place the cursor in the information display. Highlight the current release mode and press OK. Select the Continuous mode and press OK.

This lets you shoot at up to about three frames a second, depending on the shutter speed, noise reduction settings, and autofocus settings. You cannot use this with the flash.

The camera will shoot pictures as long as you hold down the shutter release button (until the buffer and/or memory card fills up). As you shoot, the viewfinder will show rNN where NN is the approximate number of further pictures you can shoot until the buffer fills up. In JPEG mode you should be able to take a hundred pictures before the buffer fills. The number will be smaller in RAW.

In AF-S and AF-A, the camera will not shoot the next picture until focus is acquired, so when shooting moving subjects or panning the camera, you may not get full speed. Even in AF-C, the camera may "hiccup" occasionally.

How do i turn on my d40 lcd screen

What do you want to see on it?

Press the Menu button to see the menu.
Press the Info button to see the shooting info screen.
Press the Playback button to review the pictures you've already taken.

If you want to use the LCD screen for shooting, then you're out of luck. The D40 does not have the Live View capability. The camera is designed to function as SLRs have for the last half century: you frame the picture through the viewfinder. I realize this isn't the answer you wanted to see, but that's the way the camera works.

I can't find my selftimer button on nikon d60. I an trying to take a picture of myself but I cannot find the button or make the one I thought work

Press the Info button to get the shooting info on the display screen. Navigate to and select the Shooting Mode item. Select the Self-timer (the icon looks somewhat like a clock with a single hand). Now, when you press the shutter button, the shutter will release after the delay. The length of the delay can be set via a menu option. The usual things about autofocus and exposure metering apply.

Camera settings appear on viewfinder screen

Ok I just posted that I had the same problem and I just figured it out by trial and error. What I did was
press the playback button.
press OK
it will take you to the edit picture menu and the first choice is D-lighting. It should be highlighted Yellow. press Ok and then the screen will come up with 2 of your picture with different lighting. choose which ever one you want then press OK. The image will save and then the camera info should go away. I have NO idea why this worked but it did and I hope this works for you!!

I wanna take a picture but i dont know how to make the camara wait 10 sec before it takes the picture

Hi,

Self-timer shooting:

This function lets you take pictures using the self-timer.
Fix the camera securely on a tripod for self-timer shooting. This function is useful for taking
pictures when you want to be included in the photograph.

1 Select [ON], and press Z.
2 Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
• Pressing the shutter button halfway
locks the focus and exposure.
• The self-timer lamp lights for
approximately 10 seconds, then starts
blinking. After blinking for approximately
2 seconds, the picture is taken.
• To stop shooting while in n mode,
press the shutter button fully again.
• To cancel the self-timer, press Z.
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after one shot.

Note:
• If sequential shooting is attempted in self-timer mode, the camera shoots 5
frames at most regardless of the setting.

Hope my info fixes your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
cheers.
