You can take both units to redio shack and they can tell you if the powersupply and the battery are any good
. if you have a volt merter with its instructions you can test these your self

What wrong with my computer?

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Is there any way to get past the EC power restriction foir BIOS FLASH...My L675D-S7049 Toahiba Laptop had a DEAD (Totally) battery due to a friend...AC shows input but NO CHARGING with new battery (OEM)...

The bios will and does not affect battery charging. Battery charging is carried out before the system and is a switch mode charger on board before the processing. If it required the processor to work and a bios, it would not charge when switched off!
I would suspect the OEM battery for the flashing light but the laptop should switch on with just mains power.
Has it been overheated?

I replaced my toshiba battery the 4000mAh to a new one 7200mAh 9 cells but it is not charging on windows its only charge when i shutdown the computer but the win 7 shows me that the cable is plugged in but...

The charger that you had for the 4000mAh battery was strong enough to charge and power your laptop at the same time.

Now that you have increased the capacity of the battery you need a charger that is powerfull enough to charge the battery and power your laptop.

You need to purchase a stronger charger/power brick.

Take care!

Toshiba satellite m35 power issues

Hi !
While power off, disconnect the power adaptor.
Take off battery.

Plug the power adaptor back and try to start !
Is it running?

If yes, than the power adaptor is OK.

Now shut down and disconnect the power adaptor.
Put back your battery and start!
Leave it untill you 'empty' the battery.
Do not start your laptop.

Plug the power adaptor and do not start your laptop yet.
Is there a led idicator showing that the battery is charging ?
Does it shows when the battery is full charged (e.g. red/yellow=charging, to green/off charged)?
If not, leave it for at least 3 hours. After that, start your laptop (adaptor is plugged) and see if you still have an icon saying charging 99%.

If that is the case, then something is wrong with the battery.

Check your warranty, and replace it.
DO NOT OPEN the battery - nothing interesting you will find inside - nothing you can do !

Regards.
